This is too perfect. And in some cases, might actually be an improvement on the original dialogue.

The prison setting has been beaten to death by now (no pun intended). This season has been incredibly poor, every episode almost feels like a repeat of the last. The show is starting to lose me now. Even the return of the governer doesn't do much for me, they spent an entire season battling him, then stuck around the prison for a bit, and now he's back? What, no new ideas? The story just seems way to stationary to me now, not enough moving it forward.
Well there was that little flue outbreak I thought that made things pretty interesting.
Having the group wandering around in the open would may get a little dull too. They'd have to have some kind of reason or end game as to why they would be doing that.
I liked watching how they made the prison into a bit of a modern day castle.

Grrrrrrreat episode, for Walking Dead standards! The governor makes this show way better. And his storyline beats the prison storyline easily. I was actually captivated the whole 40+ minutes (hasn't been the case much of this season). Morrissey is a great actor. Tops on the show.. part of it is his character, you just don't know what he's gonna do next, what his intentions are. Love the family dynamic they've created around him. Now he's got something to fight for again, and pretty crazy that he's basically putting his old family behind him. And so strange that the writers are almost forcing our hands and making us sympathize with him, and want to see him redeem himself after everything he's done.
They made a smart decision not to kill him off at the end of S3, that's for sure.

Never liked the Governor and probably never will. But I will say that had you told me going in that it was nothing but Governor for the whole episode, I would have watched while checking emails or something, I wouldnt have been into it. But this episode was pretty solid.
Far and away the best episode in a long time. The pacing of the show was great. While the pace was slow (mov't and dialogue) the show flew past. IMO that is not easy for a show to accomplish.
I am very interested in seeing how this character develops. One get's the sense that the burning of Woodbury and the family picture was the closing of the chapter. Also, the taking of a new name, a re-birth?
This character is becoming my favourite on the show. I hope they present him with a large number of challenging decisions.
Also, that board he banged in the back of the truck is hot.
great mix of everything. Crazy, geriatric walkers, change of heart for the governor, really enjoyed the show.
Did he have a change of heart or is he set to go off the deep end again? This man is not stable, the only thing that "brought him back" so to speak is his adopted family. Soon as things start going south with his new group, bad times ahead I think.
And why the choice to leave that building? He said at one point "It's not safe here" yet within the first day of leaving their vehicle breaks down, one of them twists their ankle, run head long into a herd of walkers, drop their bags and fall down a pit. Ya, much safer outside!

And that's why we'll keep watching, who knows what's going to happen? I thought it was impossible to feel sorry for the governor, but I did a little last night.

My wife brought up the same point and it was tuff to argue. They have lived that long without even knowing how to kill the walkers. I would think that is would be easy to make that building even more secure.
Anyone else invision the Govenor saying "JACKPOT!!" in his head when he walks in to find two attractive females and the only male is related to them and clearly nearing the end of the road?

Because there would be too much backlash from the public crying "This is boring! Staying in a safe place makes no sense! The story is dragging!" and so on and so forth.
I was fully expecting Brian to kill the adults so he could have a Penny 2.0.

This was my thought as well. I was expecting him to become "dad" and such, then bam something happens and the mom and kid are dead, he snaps and goes after the gang in the prison.
I was expecting it to happen last night but it looks like we get two weeks of this story line so I am guessing that somehow one of the prison gang causes their death and he snaps and goes after them. I just can't figure out how yet.
The man builds an army to ambush and kill other survivors for his own supplies. Keeps a supply of undead floating heads in his entertainment room. Locks his zombie daughter in a closet. Puts a hit on Michonne because she wants to leave. Kidnaps and tortures Andrea. Kills Milton and lets zombie Milton kill Andrea. Turns Merle into a zombie. Half rapes Maggie. Mows down a few dozen folks in a fit of rage.
Goes grabs a backgammon board from a near empty apartment a couple of oxygen tanks from some old crippled zombies and all is better!
Was that the dude from Band of Brothers and Oz in the preview for the next episode? Awesome if it was, guys kinda bad ass and is a perfect addition to this show hopefully.
Another good episode, best string of episodes this show has put together. Glad they're exploring the world around them more and knowing the show doesn't just have to be about Rick and company.
