do we not think that the bigger issue here is that he was involved with and was close to someone who was recently murdered? also if he was actively paying off a blackmailer would he not have some motive if the deceased party may have also extorted him?
little ignorant of the details I'll admit, but i will not be surprised if he's a person of interest.

I want to see footage of Ford with a bic pen shoved into an apple and being asked hey what are you doing there...and he replies an apple a day keeps the crack away.

The Toronto Sun had been a pretty staunch defender of Ford up until yesterday. This was the final straw for them; I think they're calling on him to resign mainly because they now think he's unelectable, and they want a viable conservative candidate to run in his place without splitting the right-wing vote.

Allegedly, Rob Ford called into a Radio Station pretending to be a Caller named "Ian" and defended the Mayor

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/blogs/daily...131527399.html

Rob Ford reminds me the late Chris Farley.
I wish Chris was still around so he could play the Mayor in a made for tv movie

Honestly I give him 50-50 odds of walking away from this unscathed and getting re-elected. Marion Barry did get re-elected though he did not do so concurrently. Besides do any of us want him gone? There's never been a more entertaining politician in Canadian history and its not particularly close.
It's just a stalling/PR ploy by the lawyer because he knows the police can't release it right now because there are investigations ongoing. (Not necessarily against Ford)

As for 50/50 chance, I might give him a 5 percent chance. I think he eventually resigns actually, though maybe not for a while yet.

This gets bigger every day. Extortion, murder, ties to gangs and organized crime. It's gone from a couple bad decisions to a real problem. No way he gets out of this unscathed. And the fact that some conservatives see it as still a difference in partisan politics and attitudes is starting to get a little disgusting. If people still vote for this guy should he still decide to run, they are even dumber than we originally thought they were.

A "small" episode in the long list of Mayor Rob Ford's (I like to give respect to this most audacious of all misbehaving politicians, and he is in exalted company for sure) escapades.

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/...board/follows/

Quote:
Also Friday, new information surfaced about a late-night gathering in Mr. Ford’s city hall office on St. Patrick’s Day of this year. A memo from city hall security about that night recounts how Mr. Ford returned to city hall around 2 a.m. showing signs of intoxication. “He had problems walking, was sweating profusely and was swearing at [Earl] Provost,” the report states. Mr. Provost is now Mr. Ford’s chief of staff.

At 2:30, the report states, “the Mayor headed down and visited the security desk alone with a half empty bottle of St-Remy French Brandy.”

The memo states Mr. Ford was placed in a cab just before 3 a.m. “Due to the nature of the incident involving the mayor, we will not be submitting any reports,” states the e-mail, released Friday by the city. “We did our best at keeping him away from the public eye due to his condition,” it states.
I love the fact that he likes to drink high end French brandy, it seems so gangsta.

St. Remy is actually pretty poor as far as brandy goes. If he was ballin he'd be sipping cognac. They found two liquor bottles in his trash that they searched, and I believe one of them was Russian Prince. He keeps his man of the people image by drinking bottom shelf.

Haha, in light of all the other recent revelations about Rob Ford, "showing signs of intoxication" on St. Patrick's Day seems like somewhat of a de-escalation of an otherwise growing controversy.

Next up - shocking allegations the Mayor was actually involved in trafficking crack cocaine. Followed by reports of him being noticeably tipsy at the City of Toronto Christmas party.

Naturally...
Quote:
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is facing a growing chorus of calls to step down, but his approval rating actually inched up after police confirmed that Ford appears in a video that allegedly depicts the mayor smoking crack cocaine.

That's according to a new poll by Forum Research, which showed Ford’s approval rating rose by 5 per cent to 44 per cent on Thursday, following a press conference in which police Chief Bill Blair revealed that police seized a hard drive containing a video "consistent with what has been described in the media."

Those numbers might seem counter-intuitive, conceded president of Forum Research Lorne Bozinoff, but they do show the unwavering support of Ford Nation.

“Remember we’re talking about approval rating, and that’s a question pertaining to his job as mayor,” Bozinoff told CBC News. “And as long as these allegations are not impinging on his ability to do his job, people are satisfied.”

I hope Ford stays on and wins the next election just to see the resulting hilarity.

I still don't believe it was crack. Probably weed unless crack smoke is a lot different than the smoke of weed. I'm no expert on crack though.

Crack smoke is a little lighter and dissipates more quickly. It doesn't persist in the air like tobacco or marijuana smoke.

In other random news, I accidentally smoked crack a few years ago, it was the weirdest feeling ever.

These guys were smoking something out of a can, and I was teetering on black out drunk, so I stumbled over, saw what I thought was charred black weed on top of the can, and drunkenly said "give me some!!". They were like "Are you sure, man?", and I insisted.

Unlike weed, which takes a couple of seconds to hit you, this hit just threw me back immediately and the room went white for a few seconds. It was a pretty incredible experience, but only lasted like ten minutes, then the ride was over and I went back to feeling stupidly drunk.
