Looks like a solid storyline for season 3.

Angela Bassett looks so good for her age... or any age for that matter.

I still remember her in Boyz in the Hood. Larry Fishburne you were a lucky man.

Agreed with everyone else; very good season premiere.

This show is just the perfect level of creepy.

The opening credits give me the willies.

The rape scene had me cringing.

I also assume that both the killed off "regulars" will be back, or at least, I hope so.

I love Kathy Bates. She is a phenomenally talented actress. She can do anything. Serious stuff, funny stuff, scary stuff. She is just great.

Very creepy opening episode.

Still have only seen one episode of Asylum because I'm cheap.

Murder House is streaming on Netflix here yippee.

I liked that season partially because I interpreted it as a comment on suburbia, and I don't like suburbia so much right now.

Good thread !

I'm sorry, this is a few days old, but I'm just catching up and I almost sprayed my drink on the keyboard! Anger and benevolence, those go hand in hand!

(I think you meant malevolence.)

Or maybe I wanted to see if anyone caught this because I totally put the wrong word in there.

Am I the only one who thinks the plot and writing as been pretty poor so far this season?

I thought the first episode was good, but the second one was a bit underwhelming. Plus the whole thing just reminds me of X-Men for teenage girls. It's been far less creepy in these first 2 episodes than I hoped, but I guess there's still time. That being said, I'm still excited to see where they go with it.

This season is already better than the entire last season. First season is still best, but I'm enjoying this much better than last season which sucked pretty much.

I think what is going to set this season apart is the acting. A lot more focus on some great acting talent in Kathy Bates, Jessica Lange, and Angela Bassett. Jessica Lange particularly seems to be given a lot leeway.

The second episode wasn't very "creepy". I think in the future we'll see more of that. Kathy Bates is likely to restart her torture chamber, etc..

Spoiler!

Well that has to be the first time I've ever seen incest and beastiality in the same TV show. Kudos to American Horror Story for accomplishing that.. I guess.

Oh and I had a good laugh at Kathy Bates admonishing Americans electing Obama. Pretty darn funny.

I assume he hasn't aged for the same reason Kathy Bates character hasn't or he would be long dead. His wife made him immortal.

Some pretty gross moments in this last one and not for the reasons you normally expect. Ironic that the girl brings Frankenstein home to prevent his mother from taking her life and in the process accelerates the mother's fate. Liking the season so far and the only WTF for me is the whole Stevie Nicks thing with the one witch.

Jeez Angela Bassett is beautiful.

The Stevie Nicks thing is probably because of the song Rhiannon. A lot of people assumed she was a witch because of that song. (wiki)

The opening credits are so disturbing. They are really well done.

Little weirded out by the human voodoo doll chick wanting to mate with the minotaur.

I will assume we will see the movie star chick come back at some point. I can't imagine they would get rid of her already.

I would like to see more with the necromancer. The Stevie Nicks thing is bizarre, but it actually seems to fit her earthy, hippish character.

I hope they give Evan Peters more of a role than just undead, pieced together guy.

The three female leads are just ridiculously good.

Watched the first three episodes last night. I'm definitely enjoying it so far. I like that there doesn't seem to be a clear group or individual to cheer for except for Zoe maybe.

Does it make me dirty that I find Zoe kind of hot?

I actually think Lily Rabe makes a pretty hot witch. And surprisingly enough I'd say Emma Roberts is already hotter than her Aunt ever was. Not a huge fan of either, but she fits the role well enough.
