I actually quite enjoyed this episode. I found myself wanting more and can't wait to see where they're going next.

- something as simple as heading out to unclog the water hose almost cost Carol her life. While life inside the prison seems safe and mundane, life outside the fence is anything but.

- I thought the scene with Herschel picking herbs while Carl stood watch was curious. Herschel so desperately wanted the peace and solitude that they just walked away when some walkers showed up. I did like the walker with the bear trap on her leg.

- who was on the radio broadcasting?? Our local residents are bound to meet up with other survivors now!!

- the huge zombie horde outside the vet school (I assume that's where they were) was amazing. I had to rewind and watch it twice because it looked so cool. An in-your-face reminder that there is sure a lot of walkers out there.

- our heroes (Darryl, Michonne, Bob and Tyrese) are on the move now. I can't wait to see what they bump into as they navigate the forest.

Sure, there's plot holes (vehicle choice, Darryl's unlimited bolt supply) but I was highly entertained. I thought it was the best show of the new season thus far.

Damn you I try to block that out.

There are 4 people in the car.

Maybe leave the radio tuning up to any of the 3 otherwise unpreoccupied passengers?

I found this episode kind of bereft of killings. The wife was watching with me and she's very queasy about violence so I was hoping not to scare her away so I was glad it was more mild. She's never watched one minute of this show before.

The voice on the radio has to a plot theme later.

Carol was an idiot.

not sure who is filling in the other role of "black guy who will die in a few episodes and be replaced by new black guy". they seem to be getting too deep into Tyrese's character for that to be him.

I'm guessing the voice on the radio is the Governor up to some shenanigans.

Govenor is confirmed for Season 4. I imagine he'll be re-introduced in the next 2-3 episodes.

But I'm not sure if a younger someone (Carl, troubled little blonde) would have the power to kill, drag and burn somebody.

Maybe it was just Carol. And ironic, considering Tyrese asked her so kindly to watch out for his sister while he was out.

Did Carol really do the wrong thing? Maybe the 2 people were already dead, and she just pulled the bodies out and burned them, trying to control the virus....

I'm guessing someone from Rick's group will be looking to deal for some medication Woodbury magically has.

That was my very first thought - the answer felt too much like a Shyamalan twist to be the truth.

My guess on not using a hummer or the like is the amount of gas it would take. Gas is not easy to come by so using a normal car would be better. Queue the "Wow this car only takes that much gas to get there and back, thats great."

Also the point on Daryl having unlimited arrows. You constantly see him shooting then running up and grabbing them back from the body. He has about 5 or 6 so that should work if he keeps grabbing them. My issue is the time it takes to reload, that can't be good in a close battle like that.

Next guess? Anyone left from Woodbury was/is at the prison.

At the end of last season they took a bus full of people and supplies from the town. I assume they took everything they could need food/supply wise.

Whatever her reason was, I don't see why she wouldn't be upfront about it. I think if those people were dying, the rest of the group would have agreed that killing them and burning the bodies would have been the right course of action. Doing it surreptitiously like that would make no sense.

I dunno... I could totally see them killing Glenn or Maggie actually. Something needs to shake up the core group. At this point, I figure the only one who is truly safe is Rick.

I might have missed the part where the entire town left. I thought only part of them moved.

If that's the case, I'm honestly wondering why in god's name they're using the jail for housing if they have a fully barricaded town right next door. Lots more room for quarantine and all that.

EDIT - Turns out, I did miss that.

^^^ I forget, but didn't the town get overrun, or somehow made less safe, through the battles between the two groups?

Also think the Guv factors into the radio somehow. Not thrilled with him coming back, since it didn't work out so good the first time, but we'll see how it goes this time. But I think a new group/town would be more interesting. Course that could run the risk of just repeating the whole Woodbury mess again.

Man, the more I think about it, I think the series may have jumped the shark there. They could have done so many different, interesting, and even thought provoking (what if the Giv wasn't a monster, but more of a complex character that was sort of the anti-hero to Rick?) things with it. And I don't know why they felt the needed to have a big resolution at the end of the season either. A good Woodbury plotline could have lasted 2 or 3 years done right, slowly expanding in scope.

But the whole thing was just a mess, and didn't even make a ton of sense. Not to mention the believability issues with a lot of the actions scenes, spoiling them. The fight with the brothers that Darryl is able to escape so easily. The ease in which the 'hero' group was able to attack the city, etc.

My guess on the Gov: (comic book tie in)

Spoiler!

I hope the writers follow this plot turn from the comic...it could really clean up the story line. It's time to move on from the Prison and Woodbury stories and cut out a bunch of the fluff characters.

It kind of seems like the producers got a good deal on renting the old prison for filming, and don't want to move the plot along. I'm still enjoying the show regardless.

I think that one of Maggie or Hershel will die. The younger daughter, I can't remember her name, keeps saying she cannot cry, there is no time, just do your job etc etc. There needs to be that moment that will make her cry and break down and the only thing I can think of is a death of one of her family.
I am 90% sure it will be Hershel, the writing is all over the wall, but you never know.

Glad I found this thread. I am a huge fan of the show.

As for killing off the characters, I really hope that they do not kill off Hershel. He is my favourite character. I agree with Teh_Bandwagoner however. I do believe that the only characters safe as of this moment would be Rick and Carl. I have high doubts that they would kill off Carl anytime soon.
