So back on track.... Does anyone know the percentage of votes neede for this to pass? 50% +1. 70% approval. Really curious to know.

If the turn out is sub-50%, then the vote can theoretically be re-held where it becomes 50%+1 of those that voted regardless of the turnout.

I should point out that I used the 'Ultimate' stage, not the 'Opening Day' stage for the map. The inner lanes and some of the interchanges on that map would not be built for decades.

I imagine some people's lives on the reserve will drastically change because of this project, and they're trying to (understandably) "stick it to the white man" by holding onto their land. I would be very surprised if the decision process included 'sticking it to the white man' at all.

I think this is a very sensitive decision based on weighing the value of the land (not financial, but emotional, historic and cultural) versus the opportunity of providing an economic foundation for future generations (not the money, but the access and the development that flows from that). Add in historic mistrust and a complex agreement contract and you have a very difficult choice for many.
