I did notice they played Gaudreau on the rightside of Monahan at certain times throughout the prospects tourney and intersquad games..

However, the talent level and ability is clearly there, just as you can see it when you see Sven, Monahan, and Gaudreau play.
If you believe Monahan has the upside to be a 80ish point center down the road if he develops fully, Jankowski should be in the mid 60's if he continues to progress and adapt to the NHL game. They could very well develop into a solid one two punch in the future, or depending on the upcoming drafts, they could possibly a good pairing on a line in the same way the Sharks have played Burns and Thornton together recently.
I think it is very possible that we already have 6 of our future top 9 forwards in house already (Sven, Janko, Gaudreau, Monahan, Poirier, and Klimchuk) so we are not going to be rebuilding long once those guys start getting further along in their development.

Yeah I realized I wrote that horribly. I meant that the passing/shooting/skating of mono and janko seemed very similar and that janko just had a slightly lower hockey iq and less confidence to impose himself on the scrimmage. So I agree with you.
I think we may well have 7 of our future top 9 if you count Backlund who in my opinion has had a very good start to the season and is playing a very energetic 2-way game (hope he keeps it up!).
I have enough confidence in Jankowski and Monahan that I wouldnt be tempted by Reinhart if I were GM. I would just go for Ekblad as I feel we have turned C from a weakness to a strength with Janko Mono Knight Horak Colborne Granlund Arnold etc. D and RW looks a bit thin to me.
Wish we would have traded for Trouba from WPG after last years WJHC. He outshone Seth Jones and every other player in the tournament in my opinion. Including Gaudreau. Amazing performance from him and I am not surprised he is doing well in the NHL. I would like a Trouba-like prospect for our pool of good-decent dmen. I would have given up our 21st or 28th pick in the past draft + a mid level prospect to get him. Got very jealous when I watched him almost blow-up trailor haul when he played vs edmonton earlier this month. Oh well I am sure Ekblad or McKeown will be just fine

LOL. Do you think WPG scouts weren't watching too? No way they would've dealt him for what you were proposing. It would've taken our #6 pick at minimum IMO. Trouba is a great prospect and WPG is not looking to deal him and wasn't last year either.

According to Pierre McGuire (not our resident abbotsford heat monster) last night JT miller was the reason the US won WJHC. Not trouba, not jones, not gaudreau, not gibson... not a team effort at all

Sweet, so 4 goals 2 assists in 4 games?
Didn't he have a total of 7 goals or something last year?

I think he's still talking about the 10-4 win. Providence has only played 3 games.

Click stats, loads a new page, go to the select league drop down menu and find NCAA. Done.

Holy crap. I just realized Marks uncle, Ryan Jankowski - the MTL scout who wanted Jankowski in the first round..he is the head scout for team canadas u20 wjc team.
I would LOVE to see Janko on the Canadian team this winter.

Man Jankowski looks like a monster out there. I was really critical of this pick on draft day, but so far I am liking what I am seeing. Keep it up Janko!

Ideally this fact would have no bearing but if it does I unfortunately see it going the other way... the uncle going out of his way to avoid an allegation of nepotism and judging Mark more critically than his competition.
But if Mark keeps scoring goals like that and Providence keeps beating up on opponents then the case becomes harder to resist.
