We have too many players in general... hopefully we can make a deal with this depth for an upgrade on defense?

MacKinnon and Jones are most likely not going back down as they've been great. Lindholm is injured, so they might give him a couple games when he gets back and then send him back to Sweden. Barkov's been alright too, but even if he sucked the Panthers would probably keep him there because they're the Panthers. The Stars are probably too scared to let Nichushkin go back to Russia, but he doesn't seem NHL ready.

Also ... F yeah Monahan.

Solid move, keep him grounded and a veteran to keep him focused.

I'm for letting him go to the WJC's. He can lead that team in a high-pressure environment. In the meantime, we can see what we have in our system with other centers that can temporarily slide into his spot.
 Really, a win-win for everybody.

Has to billet meaning he will stay with Hudler or move into a strangers?
Him and CC should be room mates, we could make a sitcom out of it.

Assuming we're not doing well by the time the WJC comes around, I really want him to go. Team Canada puts a value on past team experience, so the sooner he gets it at a major tournament, the better. He has the Ivan Hlinka, but the WJC is more important.

He can stay with me if he agrees to sorting through 80,000 comics on his off days.

I usually agree with sending players back, but as a flames fan that watches every game I can't not be excited to have him here the whole season!!!

I assume billet means staying with veteran teammates. I would guess he's in the Hudler household for the remainder of the season.

Agreed of course, but somehow I wasn't convinced the Flames would make the right decision (that doesn't mean I thought they would send him to Ottawa either). Feels good to see it official now.
