What's flawed about it?
FSU and Alabama have played stronger competition so far. Once Oregon plays UCLA, Stanford, etc., everything will sort itself out.
Of course, not having to go slumming and play USC will help, as well.

This is the problem...always has been.
Who says who is stronger or not? Humans...with bias involved.
No one can tell me that the SEC had 8 of the top 25 teams in the country as of yesterday morning. Thats ridiculous.
But even if you disagree with me...there is a reason they are moving to a playoff system...and thats because they KNOW its a flawed system and always has been.

Yes, it is flawed, humans are flawed. Except, the humans had Oregon as #2, the computers had them as #3.
To point out the first BCS standings of the year as the "perfect example" of the flaws is silly. See who is there at the end of the year, then we'll see how flawed it is.
I'm sure the upcoming playoff committee, consisting of humans, will get it right.

LOL the playoff is going to be worse, bunch of people picking the top four teams, it's going to be bad the first year when someone doesn't get picked.

Exactly, this is what makes CFB so amazing. When Bama lost last year to TAMU they needed two miracle upsets for them to get another shot it's awesome.

They dont have to.
Im not going to go over all this again...they have made the entirely right decision in going to a playoff system. We will see a few years of teams, and then eventually it will expand to 8. Thank god.

I don't mind that they're putting in playoffs, but it's not going to kill the same arguments and complaints. It's just going to push them from 2/3 to 4/5/6

Read this quote which I thought was funny:

That said, what Connor Halliday did last night was impressive, if for no other reason than he threw more passes in one game than Navy quarterbacks have thrown in the entire season and his arm was still attached postgame.

There will still be SEC Bias. Ie.. TAMU will get into the 8 team playoff instead of undefeated Baylor. Television will want Manziel.

I'm sure these humans will do better than the human/computer combo in determining which teams get into the playoff.
People are going to be pissed when 3 SEC teams make the 4 team playoff due to being really good er, bias.
I was all about a playoff for years, I still want to see how it works out.
Now that both of my favorite teams are competing for national titles, (LSU in FBS, Montana State in FCS), I can tell you that it will lessen the importance of the regular season.
Both of them have two losses, one is out of the running for the title (unless 2007 repeats itself), one can still win their conference, host a playoff game simply by paying more for it, and go on a championship run.

Some thoughts...
I agree that a four team playoff really doesn't do much to reduce arguments. A team like Baylor being on the outside of a four team playoff would be pretty lame.
I think FSU has a good argument for being in the NC game, and the only reason they aren't is because of pre-season rankings. I'll take the computers having influence vs pre-season rankings having influence any day.
8 team playoff is the way to go, and I really hope they go the direction of 5 conference champs and 3 wild cards.
The argument that a 4 or even 8 game playoff would somehow make the regular season less meaningful is not a good argument. This year Baylor, Ohio State and one of FSU or Oregon could potentially being playing a full season of meaningless games as far as the NC is concerned. Losing 1 game might well knock you out of a 4 game playoff this year, possibly even an 8 game.

8 game playoff means fewer regular season games, and considering most schools go out of their way to schedule patsies so they can get 8 home games a year, I don't see schools giving up that revenue. I also think 4 teams provides a greater incentive to schedule more difficult out of conference schedules. At 8 you'll still be getting teams who pilled on FCS schools or low level FBS schools. I think 4 pretty much eliminates that.
Ohio State doesn't even deserve to be considered this year. I feel sorry for them that they play in such a crappy conference, but it is a very crappy conference. 1 loss Stanford, Alabama, Missouri, FSU and Oregon teams would all deserve to be there ahead of undefeated Ohio State. Not all undefeated teams are the same. Thats what worries me about the playoff committee: Would they really stiff Ohio State, big time cash making university that it is, ahead of Missouri even if Missouri played a much more difficult schedule? I really doubt it.

Out of conference games have almost died off in significance anyway with the big conferences. As it stands now, most contending teams have at most one decent out of conference match up. Of all the teams that would be in the contention for a 4 game playoff, only Alabama will have a win against a ranked out of conference team. OOC schedules are more fluke than planning anyway. You only really have one or two games that you can schedule a good opponent, and it is a crap shoot whether that opponent has a good year or not. Should Alabama have an advantage because Va Tech ended up being ok, while FSU gets punished because Florida lost 3 games?
Conference championships are the only part of the game where each team controls their own destiny and should really be the framework for the NC.

The bolded part is very key. You're 100% right here. For instance Michigan and UCLA just announced a home and home series...in 2022 and 2023. I mean 10 years from now this could be a 1 vs. 2 matchup or a matchup of two bottom feeders in their conference. It's 10 years from now, no way can you predict what the matchup will be in terms of importance. I don't know why they have to schedule these games so far in advanced. I think and especially with the new system there needs to be more flexibility in scheduling.
