That's not the point. Rookies need to learn from the veterans, we seem to all agree with that. It's on the veterans not to make "rookie" mistakes then if they are the leaders. Small sample size, and the team is playing far better than expected, but still would like to see less such blatant and stupid plays from the leaders.

Honestly the only gripe I have besides the team being scatter brained in their end for the better part of the 3rd os Glencross hanging onto the puck when the net was empty. Either dump it in, take a shot or pass it off. I can't remember who was to the right of Glencross at the blueline but had he received a pass he would've had a better chance at a goal.

Anyway, happy the kids got some points! Especially happy for Baėrtschi, after being hoofed in the nuts by Burke then being usurped as the top prospect by Monahan, I think he had a great game.

MacDonald justifying his role as starter tonight.

Ramo's job just (to prove himself as number 1) got a little bit harder.

That baertschi - Monahan - Stempniak line is looking great! I hope baertschi is ok after that collision near the end of the game.

One thing that concerns me about Joey Mac, aside from rebound control, is he seems to take an inordinate amount of time to get back up after going down (or were we just spoiled with Kipper for so long?)

Guess he needed it. Good response.

That's a good problem to have.

I thought Stempniak played another solid game today. So far, he might be our best veteran forward this early season. Hudler and Jones weren't shabby either.

Couple of great shot block by Backlund when the Habs had us scrambling in the 3rd.

Street simply doesn't get enough credit I think. He played a great game tonight, and earned his minutes. The guy is non-stop battle. He isn't particularly skilled or flash, and he isn't big, but the guy just keeps on going and going.

Great to see the wins coming in. Love how this team plays.

Do you remember Vernon? Once he went down he was like a beached whale... just flopping around on the ice trying to get back up. It was painful to watch sometimes. Luckily we had a pretty good D back then and they would clear the puck to give him time.

I know what you are saying but we have what we have. Nobody is going to come up from the Heat and take Gio's spot and I doubt there is anyone better available in the trade market. He isn't perfect but Gio is going to get lots of minutes even if he makes the occasional gaff. Same goes for Glencross, who are you going to replace him with, Horak?

Great effort tonight by the kids and super glad they got rewarded for their hard work. Hope they can keep it up for as long as possible.

Aside from a 20 second shift with a couple minutes left, Jones didn't play at all in the last half of the third.
