Hanowski has played a fair bit of RW - Gaudreau can play there too

Maybe this is stating the obvious, but I'm sure some don't get it based on what I've read above.

We have too many LW's once Cammy is back, Philly has too many D-men and Center
We have a lot of cap space, Philly needs cap space

They make great trading partners, but I'd be shocked if it wasn't a LW for C/D, and we helped them out with cap space for a better pick/prospect to be included

I don't really think Glencross has the skills to be a star player. I think he does have the skill set to provide you with solid two play night in and night out. However, he doesn't seem to put the effort in night in and night out. If he put in consistent effort I would want him on the team but his work ethic seems questionable.

All I will say is the Flames would regret the day they ever traded Sven Baertschi. No way in hell B. Schenn will ever have the skill that Sven does.

Glencross is a glorified 3rd liner, always has, and always will.
Judge him as a 3rd liner, he is beyond excellent.
Judge him as a 2nd liner, he becomes borderline.
Tasked on the 1st line, he is showing that it is beyond his capabilities.

Dreger just said on TSN radio that a source in the Flyers wonders if Luke Schenn should be playing in the NHL anymore.

Schenn is a horrible D. Should never have been drafted that high. Thats what happens when you draft based on size and "potential" for D.

Sorry, he's quite solidly a 2nd line player. 20+ goals and 40+ points are 2nd line numbers. That doesn't mean he always has been a 2nd line player, nor does it mean he always will be but he currently is one.

Though I agree he isn't a first line player his problems aren't stemming from that. His problems is at times he's downright lazy, he sulks too much if things don't go his way (call from a ref, temper tantrum stick slam because of his own laziness) not because he's playing beyond his capabilities.

I think it's a tad foolish to judge him on what line you deem he should be on because his problems aren't because of that.

If Glencross was more consistent he would be a similar player to Patrick Sharp.

If Glencross played with Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews he'd be more consistent too.

Having good linemates doesn't cure "laziness"

No but it covers it a bit and certainly helps put up some points even when one is struggling.

What about Checcho with Thornton and White with Lidstrom?

I think the Flames should trade Glencross for several reasons.

1. He represents Old Flames Hockey (last 4 years)
2. He has a misconception of his own abilities; he thinks he's a 1st line LW but he's a 2nd line LW at best.
3. His cap hit is low, making him attractive to other teams that are in cap trouble.
4. He is still relatively young
5. The Flames do not need his production right now. Once the team is competitive in 3-4 years, he will be post-apex.

Evidently the Flyers disagree with that logic, as they still picked Morin.

I don't know if he thinks he is a 1st line LW. If he did then why was his hometown discount so freakin' low? If he thought he was a 1st liner he would have signed for a lot more, even with a home town discount. If the team disagreed with his assessment of himself, he would have likely got mad at the team and walked away, even though he would prefer to stay here.

At the time when he signed the contract he didn't think he was a first liner. Just last year and this year.

Sharp plays with Kane and Toews on the powerplay, 1st unit, has for a very long time.

Glencross is the best skater in the league..

But really I was pissed at him for the turnover, but I doubt he would waive his NTC and of course I would only trade him if the return was right. If he does go please include Butler in the package.
