First of all, ridiculous how many people left after Van's goal with 3 minutes left. You've sat 57 minutes of play, and the opponent is up by 1? Its not that late (8:15 pm), truly appalling.
Almost as appalling as Glencross' giveaway. Yes, the Canucks were going to be coming on after the 3rd Calgary goal, but his atrocious giveway gave them the boost needed to fully change the momentum, and after that, you almost knew they were going to get one or two more, and they did.
McGrattan's giveaway was also bad, but not nearly as bad as Glencross. Honorable mention to the egregious decision of Butler to pinch of a puck he was never going to get to, and turn it into a 3 on 1 the other way.
Good and bad with McDonald. Fault him on goals? No, but only two of those go in on Kiprusoff and they wouldn't be spectacular saves. That said, his stick save kept out a sure goal.
The Flames are surprisingly dominant in the offensive zone, and not just through the cycle, its more the individual skill, shifty puck movement and very good passing to keep possession.
However, in their own zone they look lost most times, certainly when the other tea ramps up the pressure.
Good effort, but can't keep losing multigoal leads, this with under 12 minutes to go...that's not "lack of experience", its either lack of fitness or lack of proper awareness from the players or coaching staff to keep the team on plan.

We're probably not going to make the playoffs but who cares at least this team can be bothered to put in the effort unlike the teams of the last few years.
Funny enough it's the vets, aka glencross and mcgratton which are costing this team points.
Why is it wrong to offer constructive criticism?

Thought we played hard and well. Vancouver only scored because of huge mistakes by our players. We controlled play a lot. Wideman with a ridiculous play in overtime, glencross with a terrible giveaway, and mcgrattan with another awful turnover.
I thought Glencross was really bad.
Sean monahan played his best game his -2 is not deserving at all.
Hartley is doing a bad job managing the bench and the line match ups and lines. Ben street on the top line playing against the Sedin's? Really dumb. Then on the power play not a center out, losing every draw and chasing from the get go.
Get glencross off the top power play and taking faceoffs.
Hudler really gives no effort very lazy player.
Last but not least, Chris butler is one of the worst hockey players have I watched. A terrible terrible player with 0 hockey iq, and no skill. The you pair him up with Shane obrien and you have a disastrous pair. Need to get rid of them both.
Monahan was actually -3 and on the ice for 4 goals. Didn't look that great defensively and a goat on the 4th goal losing his man. Very poised on his goal though but not deserving of 3rd star in my mind.

I do too and I accepted a long time ago that they will lose alot this year but I'm also not going to live in happyland all season and will call them out when I see fit regardless if it annoys certain people.
I will say this. I have been critical of Backlund in the past and if he continues this play throughout the year he will win another fan. Very impressed with him thus far.
On another note, GlenX needs to get his head out of his ass and play like a man! Can't believe he was given a NTC. Would like to see him shipped out for a pick or a D. Just not happy with the effort or lack of he puts out on a consistent basis.

Goat on the 4th goal? I don't think so.
Loses his man on the boards, but that's a defensive breakdown.
Stempniak is down covering the centre position, O'Brien is all alone in front, and Butler is chasing behind the net when he shouldn't be (the puck is already behind the net before he gets to the trapezoid). Monahan loses his man, Stempniak starts to cover booth, O'Brien takes no one and Butler is foolishly caught behind the net taking nobody when the goal is scored.
So, Monahan gets beat, and neither defenseman are taking a man.
Very entertaining game - very fun to be there tonight.
It was a shame that the two giveaways cost them the game, they deserved better. Over the course of 64 minutes, they were the better hockey team and they definitely got Vancouver's attention.
In three games, they have trailed for what - 10 or 15 minutes? Love that they never quit.
Backlund has been great. Brodie too. Giordano is in beast mode. Wideman was also good, except for that play in OT.
I thought Monahan and Baetrtschi were really good tonight - surprised how much Hartley put them out against Kesler and they held their own.
Jones, Stempiak and Galiardi were all good.
I have never been a Butler hater or basher. But he was awful tonight. A lot of people are ragging on SOB, but I think that Butler's bad decisions are the problem.
3 breakaways tonight, and there could have been a couple others if the puck hadn't bounced on them. LOVE the speed on this team.
It is amazing how good they are in he offensive zone and how bad they are in the defensive zone.
They will surprise a lot of teams this year with their speed
