They were even on the night so it's totally unfair to pin Monahan's -3 on them. I agree that the pairing had their moments but ultimately it's the top 4 defensemen that let this team down in the end.

I liked the push back after the collapse to tie the game. It's still very early in the season, and I'm happy with the single point. Many costly mistakes in the 3rd with the Flames standing around. It's like they got too cocky with the 2-goal lead and stopped skating. And I think we all know this is a team that can't afford to quit working when they have the lead. Also, despite a couple of highlight reel saves by Joey Mac, our goaltending is pretty sub-par. Here's hoping they give Ramo the start for next game. Even if they lose, I think the coaching staff needs to give him a few starts in a row just to get some more experience. Macdonald is a serviceable backup. But that's all he is.

That was a fun game. Really enjoy watching this team.

Butler chasing behind the net kind of deserves some for that one, too.

Fair, partly his fault...center needs to take his man back to the net

Hope they keep Monahan up. He doesn't look out of place at all. If anything, maybe Sven needs some time in Abby.

No, by that time the Sedin's had broken up. Backlund took a draw against Kesler and D. Sedin's line, and then H. Sedin's line come on against McGrattan, that's what I saw at least.

IMO Glencross should be traded while he still has value. Guy looks like he's checked out and is content to play country club hockey. He sticks out like a sore thumb in this group.

I'm not at all impressed with Colborne.
I cannot stand Joey MacDonald.
Without Stajan and Cammalleri, our guys were really tired out there as the bench needed to be shortened.
Backlund looks great, Brodie looks so good out there, Monahan impressed me with his goal tonight.

I really think we need to bring in a defender and a new goalie. Bryz could make the rebuild a lot more fun to watch this year.

A disappointing finish to the game, but it was certainly entertaining.

Well I'm not totally blaming Hartley because Jackman isn't exactly a stellar alternative but McGratton's not a guy that should be playing every night.

That's surprising. I guess that play where Butler chased the guy behind the net is still caught in my mind.

Oh ya, Butler sucks. He really does.

That said, overall it was good effort against a better team. It was also an entertaining game.
I expect you will get some "he's a solid, bottom pairing guy" retorts, but he definitely sucks. Feaster's mulligan should be getting rid of this guy for a bag of pucks. Cundari is a better d-man and it's that simple.

Who else would you put in? Jackman isn't any better at this point and McGratton's played well in the past 2 games so why not reward him.

When do we pry "The RUSSIAN BEARRRRRRR!" Bryzgalov out of Las Vegas?

Great game though by the kids; didn't expect to win this game. But they sure gave the Canucks a run for their money. Monahan is just getting better and better!

I enjoyed the game. I hate losing to the Canucks, but if we lose I want to lose in overtime/shoot out.

If you think about it our two losses were to division winners last year with high end talent on them.

I'm not a huge Joey MacDonald can, while he looked good on some shots, I didn't think he looked good in the third. Perhaps it's his awkward style of play, but he seemed to be reacting to every #### rather than being in position to stop it. Full disclosure, even with the excitement of the game I barely am able to keep my eyes open this evening (now past 12 here on the Atlantic coast) so perhaps my groggy state is affecting my judgement.

All in all the team has me debating purchasing Centre Ice, something I haven't done in years.

Don't forget this is a year one of the re-build team against an older team hanging onto the hope they are stanley cup contenders.

the fact that the flames dominated the game is something to be happy about...at least for me

Kris Russell needs to stop freaking sliding whenever there's an odd-man rush.
