Both those goals were screens by O'Brien though. Hard to do the pick when your D doesn't let you see it.
That McGrattan fight was a thing of beauty.

And I thought we all loved Berra after last game? Glad this board doesn't do my review lol.

Dear god, can't imagine how annoying it is to be a GM of the Calgary Flames if the fans are like the fans here in this site.

No one here expected that the goalie situation would sort itself out as soon as the players stepped on the ice, so I don't get why anyone would be so impatient and quick to judge. You wouldn't expect a veteran NHL starter to be his best in the preseason. Every goalie out there is trying to get his timing and positioning fine-tuned right now.

It's been two pre-season games.
Going to be a long re-build if we are already writing guys off after 120 minutes of hockey.
Don't see how those are SOB's fault though, they were weak goals by Berra. Not sure how you want SOB to defend if he can't stand in front of the shooter from 40 feet out.

Eh, you can blame SOB on those goals ( i guess), but when you're letting in 35-40 foot wrister's without any traffic in front, and you let them in clean?
Those are terrible, awful goals.
Leland Irving makes those saves all day long.

I would absolutely consider my ticket value paid off if I were able to see Grats take Bieksa to the cleaners. There aren't too many players I really can't stand (most of them are on the Canucks) but Bieksa needs to be shown the way if he's going to be a brat.
The little clip of that fight from last night though, holy hell, it looked like he was trying to take his head off.

I'm going to give MMF the benefit of the doubt here, and assume this was a poke the bear attempt, the bear being CP.
Don't think anyone is foolish enough to pass judgement after 90 minutes and less.

You can extend that to every player period, they honestly can't have a bad shift on this board or they are automatically hot garbage...mind bottling.

That's probably the natural reaction considering certain people are convinced players are the next Toews/Chara/Kipper/Lucic etc, so when said players show errors in their game, they lose their mind because they didnt remember that those players haven't actually BECOME their dream equivalents yet.
It's much easier if you take a subdued approach, I haven't been disappointed with a preseason game yet.

What did we expect? A Rudy story. A team of unheralded young players coming out of the tunnel and winning upset after upset after upset? Some inspiring slow building music montage in slow motion of Flames celebrating goal after goal after goal? Journalists and writers salivating at their unlikely run to the playoffs, soon to be a disney moving starting Tony Danza as Hartley, James Earl Jones as Brian Burke and Morgan Freeman as Feaster?
Come on . . .
We have goalies who are getting used to completely different lines of sight and speed. We have young players who are going to struggle when they actually take on NHL players and get used to it.
We wanted a blow up and rebuild, you might as well take off the we're going to upset teams and be successful hat and put down. I'm watching the game to see how individuals do and if they're going to be good NHL players some day.
There are going to be more f ups mistakes blunders stupidity and hilarity this season then we've ever seen before since we have never seen a dramatic rebuild in this city before.

Its been stated before but a lot of fans in this city are not mentally prepared for a rebuild, as much as they say they are. Its gonna be hilarious to watch the fan reaction to how bad this team will be. We'll see how much patience everyone really has.

I want 3 things from the team this year:
1) Stand Up for Each Other
2) Never Give Up
3) Develop the youth
That's It. So far in pre-season they have being doing 1 and 2 and that makes me happy. Hopefully number 3 follows.
