Netherlands down 2-1 to Estonia right now.

Would be a shocker.

Portugal also down 2-1 now to Northern Ireland.

Postiga red card was for a head butt. Ronaldo yellowed for protesting it.

Sweden up 2-1 against ROI

Anders "Taco" Svensson!!

I'm not sure we deserved that. And we're not playing that well. But I really, really want three points.

Apparently, Nederlands pulled out a draw with a penalty kick in the 90+3 minute.

Portugal is up 3-2 now as well after Ronaldo scored twice in 9 minutes.

Wales lost 2-1 and the manager left Bale on the bench late in the game while in need of a goal.

4-2 for the 10 men of Portugal against the 9 men of Norn Iron.

And congrats to hat-trick Ronaldo, for drawing with and overtaking Eusebio to beome Portugal's all time leading goalscorer. (43)

Serbia - Croatia finished 1-1. Entertaining game, we should have won, we were definately the better team. Croatia is more experienced team, however, and it showed.

However, this was sickening...if I were his coach, he'd never play another game for me...

Poland, why can't you WIN anything you stupid, useless, dumb, collection of pylons.

Lewandowski, Błaszczykowski, Piszczek, Obraniak and Szczesny (or Tyton even). That's more talent than anyone else in the group outside of England and the most you've had since the early 80's.

I hate you all.

Deutscheland uber alles.

It just frustrates me that Poland was more successful when international superstar Ebi Smolarek was their best forward. We actually have a bunch of really good players and it's going to waste because the Polish association won't hire a real coach that can utilize them properly.

Sung to Ronaldo in Belfast.

You're just a cheap Gareth Bale ...

Mexico LOST!

AT HOME!

Costa Rica leading the US 2-1 late in the 2nd half, a win puts them in first.

How big is that US-Mexico game in Columbus now?

edit: make that 3-1.

Pretty sure Pauleta is the all time Portuguese leading goal scorer. Ronaldo is pretty close to him with the hat trick though.

It's pretty sad that it took Northern Ireland going down to 9 men for Portugal to take control of today's match. They got the 3 points and I guess that's all that matters, but it's tough to get confident with this squad. Portugal doing their usual frustrating qualifying routine. They'll get to the playoffs and probably get a decent draw as FIFA wants Ronaldo in the tournament. I could see Portugal getting Norway or one of the weaker runner ups in the playoffs.

Like I said before, it's the same thing with Serbia. Sometimes it's not about individuals, but team. Perfect example of this is Greece in 2004. They never had any "world class" players, yet they won the EURO.

Mexico fire De La Torre.

Who will coach them Tuesday in Columbus?
Mexico are in trouble, 4th place with 3 matches remaining and still have to go to US and Costa Rica

That was stupid, they should have either fired him a long time ago or ridden him all the way through. Changing coaches now? What do they think thats going to accomplish?

With Mexico stumbling, this is why I predicted last year that if Canada got into the Hex, they would've qualified for the WC. May go against logic and common sense and end up being a Cinderalla story, but just had a sense that they could've got it done somehow.

Basically, they'd be in the same spot as Honduras is, a draw with the US and maybe Costa Rica, then an upset win vs. Mexico, and beating the teams like Panama and Jamaica.

Anyways, not surprising to see the Mexicans overreact with a firing.
