Every single parent thinks that their kid is the cutest, and for whatever reason, the whole world needs to know. I don't care that your kid is playing with his toys and he's got a meatball stuck to his eyebrow, I really don't. Or, showing pics because it's cute that your kid is sitting in the tub with his willy hanging out playing with a rubber ducky.... I sit on the toilet a couple times a day, why is that not okay to show?
Honestly, nobody cares about other people's children. Especially the way they're being blackmailed and paraded across social media today. That's why they're... YOUR children, so you can care about them and the rest of us don't have to.

If you don't like it don't view them. If they cram it down your throat say something and stand up for yourself instead of venting online.

So are you suggesting that you've gone on Facebook and seen pictures of your friend's and family's kids posted there?! Well, color me shocked indeed!
Why aren't those people using social media for ... well ... hold on, what's social media supposed to be used for again??

Pictures are okay. Excessive amounts of them are not.

Actually it is not really friends per say, mostly articles, news stories and of course CP. Seems lately childless people have to defend their decisions loudly. Frankly I don't care I don't preach nor you (they).

Waiting for that one. I don't think I have shown a picture of my kids to anyone that hasn't asked, like an old friend. Some do go on facebook but more the random, silly ones.

With the anger and hostility that one fellow expresses to folks, I'm not too surprised he doesn't seem to have many 'good' friends.

No anger what's so ever if you are referring to me. Really don't care personally just pointing it out. And I have a lot of good friends and you sound like a complete tool. Actually a lot of those "good" friends were the direct result of having kids. Even meet more every week with each new kid activity. Having kids and not having kids does not mean you have to "choose" to be friends. That's, just stupid. You're friends or you are not. Kids, no kids, nothing to do with it.

I agree with you and understand where you are coming from. I don't shove anything down anybodies throat, look, don't look, it really is quite simple. Pictures are there for people that want them and will look at them. The rest can scroll by pretty quickly these days with the latest mouse technology. I'm sure there is a meme or something to get to.
I'm not defending anything here, don't feel the need to, this is just discussion on my part. I wanted kids, others don't. Great. I also don't see the point it getting married if you don't plan on having kids but that just me.

Why would you even say something? The neat thing about Facebook is that you have options:
1. Unfriend them... if someone is irritated by me posting pics of my kid on facebook than i wouldn't be offended by them doing this. Most likely because they aren't that great of a friend.
2. If you are scared to unfriend them, block their newsfeed.
Jesus Christ way to blow a non-issue really out of proportion. For the record, I rarely post my daughter's pics on facebook (or anything else), but I enjoy seeing my friend's (close and not so close) kids on there.

Explaining the options to me. Cool. I didn't know any of the stuff you just said was even possible.
In a huge twist of irony, you're the one blowing this out of proportion through unnecessary confrontation.

I just think it's silly when people complain about stuff that is easily avoided.

I do avoid it. That much is obvious. Doesn't mean I don't find it annoying in general.

I don't get it. If pictures of your "friends" kids bother people that much, why don't you just unfriend the person? I enjoy seeing my friends and families kids playing hockey, birthday parties, etc... Nothing wrong with parents being proud of their kids IMO.
I could do without hearing how people slept and what they had for lunch though.

Because then your friend will ask you why you unfriended them and it's awkward/socially unacceptable to state the real reason.
Thankfully Facebook now has a feature where you can block updates from certain people from ever appearing in your newsfeed, but that's a relatively recent addition to the site.

Saying there's no point in getting married if you're not going to have kids is pretty weird, dude. You have to admit.

Back in my single days, I remember eventually blocking most of my friends with babies because of the swarm of photos, so I tried to get around this by creating a Flickr page where I put up a ton of family pictures (set to private), and gave everyone who would be interested the password. Apparently that was way too hard for 95% of family though and nobody ever looked at them...and yet still kept asking for photos. As soon as I put them on Facebook, it was swarm of comments.
But I still try to be somewhat understanding of those who find it cloying. Definitely no photos on message boards, "I had a baby" threads starters, or showing photos to people without them asking. I really don't care about strangers kids, and I don't expect them to do so either. I try to limit photos of my daughter on Facebook to twice a month. Hopefully that doesn't annoy the childless friends too much, but still gets them to the grandparents and aunts and cousins and everyone else who seems to care.

You can create a group of friends on Facebook, and then just target photos / albums to that group. That way your friends/family can still get the photos without doing anything, and you're not bothering those who don't want to see them.
