This may interest some people. Coors Original is coming to Canada! I'm not positive of the exact date but I believe sometime in mid-August.

Wow Coors original is actually a pretty good beer. Good news.

Picked up a few sixers of these guys on the weekend:



I was pleasantly surprised, got the taste of an IPA but a great session beer thus the name. I was happy as well because it is tough to find a good hoppy beer in a can, and bottles are a no no on the fishing boat.

Coors original was here at some places for Stampede. It's definitely one of the better widespread American beers.

I remember working in Colorado one time and there was a bar with $1 Coors pints and Patron shots

Last year in Orlando was the same thing after a playoff basketball game. Ticket got you free entry and 1 dollar beers and shots all night. Good times had by all

Picked up some Coors Original today! Got it at Co-op liquor store in Creekside.

So, I had a BrewDog at a pub a few weeks ago. Punk IPA, thought it was fantastic.

Found Willow Park sells two different BrewDog four packs. One is a mixture of different IPAs made with different hops, cleverly called IPA is Dead. The other four pack is all Hardcore IPA. It was pretty hardcore at 9.2%.

Anywho, this is good stuff. Buy it if you can find it (and are willing to pay $16 for 4).

For those that are from, or have visited Prince Edward Island, you already know that this is good news.

Available only at Sobey's Liquor stores, I bought some last night. And I was worried that it wouldnt taste as good when not sitting on a beach, but I was wrong it was delicious.

I really like the "Sir John A.'s Honey Wheat Ale" or the "Ironbridge Brown Ale". My wife prefers the "Blueberry Ale".

Sorry MLA not MP, A lot less than the Provincial minimum. It's impossible too start small and grow a brewery. You need a lot of capital for equipment and marketing. The minimums are less for a a brew pub setup but a restaurant isn't cheap to set up and run if a brewery is your end goal.

Alberta places a minimum annual production quota on any new brewery of 250,000 litres (about 733,000 bottles) and a 500,000-litre minimum capacity. This can be a formidable hurdle for a new brewery with no established market. In contrast B.C., Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia place no minimum requirements on new applicants.

All provinces offer a retail tax (sometimes called government “mark-up”) discount to small brewers as a way to make them more cost competitive. The rates vary, as do the implementation of the rules, but the Alberta regime receives mixed reviews. “The taxation rate for small volume breweries is favourable,” says Yellowhead’s Dub. Herbst agrees, but adds a caveat. The differential tax “helps with the economies of scale to keep our pricing competitive, but it isn’t ramped up. If you hit 20,000 hectolitres (two million litres), all of your production gets marked up at [the higher rate].” Herbst is referring to the fact that the tax rate is not graduated, which means that once a brewery hits the 20,000 hectolitre threshold it must pay the higher tax rate for the entire production volume rather than merely the amount in excess of the threshold. “It makes the 20,001st hectolitre very expensive,” he explains, noting that it creates a significant disincentive for breweries to grow beyond a certain level.

Also, correct me if I'm wrong but Brew pubs in Alberta are not allowed "off-site" sales, so, basically they can only sell their product in store. In order for them to be able to sell bottles or growlers they would need a brewery license and meet those insanely high quotas.
