What a Season!
We've likely wasted career years from 95% of our guys in the 'pen. They look so good this year, likely 2 or 3 will fall off the table next year (hopefully not Romero-ian like descent! Actually, injuries will probably be the culprit.)
The Rotation... wow... I expected Dickey (with some true weight/expectations on his shoulders) to be about 85% as effective as he had been the recent years prior, especially adding in DH tax...but wow. At his age, he's likely 3rd in a good rotation next year (1-2 in ours)..Buerhle has pitched like a 3, I expected he would be terrible. I don't see how you can bring JJ back? Sad for Morrow, expected he would again be 85% of last year and we would have taken that. Esmil Rogers has been exposed.
Batting order has been good in some places and downright horrible others. Can Lawrie play more than 30 good games / year? I think Melky is the poster boy for post-Ped players, nevermind the physical edge it gives you, the confidence, its the "not breaking down as easily" when you get into your 30s that is the biggest boost. May as well run Rajai out there next year fulltime, I'd love 70 bags at the top of the order, along with Reyes.
Too many gaps in the lineup and the rotation, unless Morrow returns to form next year as the ace... I don't see how this team contends even for the last Wild Card...
Next year is "go for it - again!" not sure what we can trade to bring in pieces to help, cupboards are empty with help us now pieces...
Good Luck AA!
