Default This is a long shot, but is anyone here a graduate of U of Waterloo?

Just wondering if you have ever gone to one of those Calgary based Alumni networking things and if they are worth going to? On average, how many people show up? Have you actually every made any successful business or professional contacts? I keep getting the emails but have never bothered to go. I guess this question applies to graduates of other universities too that have these things organized for them...

I am a graduate of waterloo, but have not attended any Alumni gatherings. I was at SOHO for the stampede parade the same time as they were. Looked like fun as a table of graduates were doing shots at 10am.

Not sure that helps much.. haha.

I'm a UofW grad, but have never gone to one of these events. I think if you are looking to make business connections, it can't hurt. You have to think there will be a few there who, if they were to put in a good word, could tilt things in your favor. Personally, I've found Waterloo grads are generally well respected in the comp. sci world (my area), which helps make it easier for other grads to recommend you.

i'm a queen's grad, and only showed up to an alumni type event before going to queen's (it was a get together organized for students who were heading into first year that coming fall), but nothing since then.
