The issue is Fleury was still the starter and Luongo wasn't

Pat, stop trying to use numbers to convince others that MAF is competent, let alone good, at the game of hockey. We all know this simply is not true.

Guess I'm mostly thinking playoffs.

Actually that's a good question. Does the rerate team take playoff performances into the equation, or is it like NHL awards that look only at regular season performance?

While I understand the problems with adding playoffs into the equation (not all teams are in the playoffs, playoff games are supposed to be harder, etc.) I would think big performers might get a slight nod, and big chokers, ahem, might also have their performances counted into their rerates slightly.

More of a question on how it's done, than a suggestion on any policy change.

First off, Kipper comment was a joke as I do understand most seen it that way... Ratings are always tough, but sometimes you just have to be honest and we tend to over rate our own players

The great thing about the way these ratings are shown is that D are list from top to bottom, Goalies are listed from top to bottom. Makes it very easy to see and compare in relation.

The one thing that always rings true when it comes to things like this, even though we try to correct it... it is statistically based. Rating wise it's better to be a backup goalie on a great team then a starting goalie on a bad team. Nothing you can do, thats the way it is

Overall, I think OV the ratings are good. I do notice some players who look out of place but because the way the ratings are they are often only 1OV or 2OV difference but it just looks worse because there are others with that rating so the gap seems bigger when really, it is not.

So when the difference is only 1 or 2OV, those are not the differences the CPHL is looking to making corrections on, it's the guys who are completely off.
