Small soft winger sounds perfect for the oilers

Tarasenko-Backes-Oshie
Steen-Berglund-Roy
Shwartz-Sobotka-PJ
Porter-Lapierre-D'Agostini
Not bad..
Hall-RNH-Eberle
Perron-Gagner-Yakupov
Smyth-Gordon-Hemsky
Jones-Lander-Eager
Correct my lines OilFan... but I think Perron really helps round out their top 6.

I think Edmonton did well with this deal. As long as Perron's brains don't turn to mush.

Magnus Paajarvi looked to be putting the pieces together last season. Honestly don't know what to think of the deal. Tough to give up on a 22 year old, Perron is the older guy at 25 lol

Wow. I think Edmonton over-paid. I really like Perron, but I have to question how he fits in Edmonton? I will say one thing. He does fit in with the rest of the team. Smallish and injury prone. Perron's concussion history should be very concerning to a team that seems to have injuries follow them around.

6', 200lbs (on Hockeydb) isn't small; and, again, he is not one dimensional

Not a bad problem to have

Seems to get a bunch of PIMs for a smaller guy. I seem to recall him being similar to a Brad Marchand type player...has skill and agitates but is small. They haven't really addressed their size issues in their top 6 though...but at this point, Perron is an upgrade on Paajarvi.

His brains will turn to mush because of the division he's in.
The Flames have Phaneuf, Regehr, Sarich....
wait....
The Flames have Butler, Wideman, Russell....
Damn.

Thanks guys.
I guess I shouldn't count Stewart yet as he is not signed.. but then again neither is PJ. Roy can take Stewarts spot on the 2nd line.
I am having trouble figuring out why the Oilers are paying Boyd Gordon 3 mill a season though..

Perron is not a soft player, I would love to have him on my team.

I figure Gordon was signed at $3M per to be their 3rd line C.

MacT's BOLD move is this?
I mean Perron is a big upgrade on Paajarvi, but I thought Paajarvi is exactly part of the core in the bottom 6 with his strong defensive play, size and added grit last season. This is just a step backwards personnel wise. Anyone see Perron play? Is his similar to a Brad Marchand type or Sam Gagner? If he brings an agitating game, then I will like this trade.

He is now an Oiler, hence he is now one dimensional. Geez, get with the program already!

Good trade for the Oilers. Sad to see that Mac-T is actually a competent GM.
MPS is alright but very much a project at this point in time, and the 2nd is average value.
Bad trade by the Blues. Don't think their management has made great moves as of late.
