Any other differences? Hardwall vs. Aluminum siding, etc?
They appear similar and have all the same features as far as I can tell.

Hey, no worries. Rednecks need to sell their trailers too. No need to keep up with the Jones'. You can haul a fifth wheel right?

So I figured out the mystery 1000lbs. I was comparing different numbers...they're virtually the same.

Brands, build quality and layout is important.

If your looking at the older trailer have a look at the roof and the appliances.

The reason I ask the years; if you are comparing a 1997 model to a 1985 model; I might also looks for the one that looks like it was maintained better. But comparing a 2007 to a 1995 is a very different story.

Don't worry about feeling cheap; I think all of us here have experienced the sticker shock and/or buyer's remorse at some point with our trailers. If you can get a better deal that suits your needs- go for it.

The other thing to consider- tank capacities. One of the reasons I went with my current trailer is it holds 50 gallons of fresh water. Most others in the same class held around 20 gallons. They count the 6 gallons in your water heater into that total; and you can never really get that out without draining the heater. So subtract 6 gallons from your useable amount. That would have left me with 14 gallons instead of 44; which is quite significant.

The shower in these seems like it would be a really quick rinse! Its not a big deal to me at all, but 4-6 gallons of hot water sounds like something I can do without!

In my case the older trailer is really well maintained and is owned by a friend of a really good friend. The other one is newer and seems good, but I found it online...so the trust factor just isn't there. I guess the number of years is just way less of a factor for trailers. If we were talking cars here I wouldn't be anywhere near these two.

Are you looking for someone to vote for the older one? Go for it. If the price is right, it's probably depreciated to whatever it's going to be worth for a few years, as long as you keep it in good shape.

I typically use more hot water for washing dishes than showering. However if you are camping somewhere that has full hookups you can take a normal shower as long as you set the tank to use both propane and electric.

But even when dry camping for several days I find a quick shower refreshing. Yes, you soak yourself, shut off the water while you soap yourself, then rinse. Last camping trip was only 2 nights, but my wife did have a quick shower at one point. It is somewhat handy to have.

No, I just can't make a decision. All things being relatively equal though I'll probably just buy the newer one I guess.

Solar showers work well (if sunny). You leave the black sack of water in the sun all day, and by later in the afternoon you will have enough warm water for a few showers.

Spent a week camping up in Meadow Lake Provincial Park.. lots of Albertans around that area. Great Park, the best in SK for sure.. if you haven't been, go check it out. I recommend Lake des Isles if you don't mind bears, and Kimball Lake if you want the best beach in Sask.

Thinking that my tenting for a week days are over, I will keep the little north face 3 man for back packing, but next year I want to have a truck camper. Anyone have any experience with these bad boys and can offer advice on what to look for and what to watch out for?

Anyone know of a campground that might have a space for a large group?

Our normal spot for our big camp out is High River, but that is obviously out. I think there is normally 15-20 families.

Sweet, I'm heading up to Kimball on the 22nd. Really looking forward to it.

Where can I get a 'stump'?, my trusty stump (for chopping wood) I've had for years was confiscated by the US Border patrol and now I need a new one.

Also is there a shop in town than can help adjust my weight distribution and sway control hitch, I'm not convinced that the dealer is the best place to go. Are hitch shops a good bet for precision fine tuning?

Adjusting a WDH is not that difficult and you should be able to do it following some basics.

Share some info (WDH, tow vehicle, trailer length, weight, tongue weight) and maybe we can help.

I'm 98% sure I have one for you. And I mean I know I have one you can have; it's just a question if it's split from sitting out so long. (The tree was cut down ~6 years ago.) Let me check tonight.

This is the WD/SC hitch I have, I just adjust the chains with a wrench they provide.

Also no grease on the ball FTW.

My hitch is a Reese dual cam. When the dealer installed they said to use link 6. On my last trip I went up a link to link 7 (tighter, counting from the end up) and had much improved results. After a trip to the scale I'd like to get another 20KGS off my rear axle, I'm not sure if it's as simple as tightening one more link?, or will the cams have to be adjusted as well. Is there such a thing as too tight? If I go up to link 8 I'd only have about 2 chain links left, and my bars would be quite a bit higher than parallel I'm also thinking my ball height may have to be adjusted if I tighten the weight distribution.

Of course I'll shift some weight around inside the trailer as well, just want to make sure I'm getting the full use out of my hitch.

Really I'd love to pay an expert shop to precision adjust this for me as my tow vehicle and trailer will pretty much always have the same contents.

As for the stump, that's awesome if it works out. I have some pretty specific measurements as I need it to fit in a plastic bin I use. Was wondering if there is a place you could go to 'shop' for these Maybe yours is the right size! I'm pretty disappointed I brought it with me as I didn't even need it in the states!

I've never had any complaints about the size of my stump.

Maybe measure the inside of your bin; I think I have a few of those stumps left from various chunks of the tree. The one I was thinking of was what I used to use as a base for the trailer hitch to sit on. However I made something else since then.
