When you sober up a little though after the show though, you start recalling that the tribute band is there almost every year.
oh, and booking a tribute band the same year as the real band is kinda strange.

That's the other thing that gets me, tribute bands have their place in the world, but it's not along side the real deal. I imagine if Gene $immon$ were aware of it he'd have axed having a tribute band booked for the same event/festival to protect his brand.
At the end of the day it's just poorly thought out to book a tribute band along side the real deal, and with the cancellation of the real show it creates confusion about if the show was moved or a make up gesture from the band.

Does anyone else that goes to the grandstand show also come close to blowing their brains out every year with these young canadians?

Good performance last night, with a mostly up-beat 2 hour show. I can see how some people don't like him, but I think it is difficult to think of a more talented and well-versed songwriter this side of the 1980's.
It would have been a better show if all of the underage smokers had gone home to make their 8:00 curfew. Oh, and to the drunk cow with the dyed-black hair, bumble bee glasses, and lot lizard friends: what you consider "dancing" most people would call "having a grand mal seizure."

Ugh. Ugly reminder of Stampede week at work this morning as two washrooms and 6 toilets just obliterated in fecal matter. Usually my go-to washroom is clean.

I am going to be really busy and mostly down the stampede area but if i want to pick up a new flames jersey with a players name on the back etc, where is the best place to go??

There's a Flames FanAttic store right in the Saddledome. I believe it's still open during Stampede, but that may have changed because of the flooding.
If it's not open, or you just don't want to carry the jersey around with you all day, there's also a FanAttic store at North Hill mall. Assuming you won't have a car, you can get there on the C-Train. If you're downtown, get on a westbound train heading towards "Crowfoot". That will take you out of downtown and up a big hill by SAIT. You'll want to get off at the station after SAIT, called Lions Park. You'll be able to see the mall from the Lions Park platform. The Flames' store is about halfway down the length of the mall.
There's also a FanAttic at the airport, but they have a limited selection.

Does anyone know how much cover charge is at some of the stampede bars/tents this year? Wondering about Ranchmans, Wild Horse, and Cowboys mostly.

The Wildhorse was $25 on Friday. I believe Ranchman's is $20. I'm not sure about Cowboys

I remember back a few years ago I got charged $20 to get into the Wildhorse tent and when I got in it was pretty much empty. I wanted to burn that mofo down.

Any idea what time Offspring starts tomorrow night (not doors but their actual set)?
Maybe as a point of reference, what time have the other shows started at Cowboys (for those who have gone)?

It's Monday night. I'm guessing Nashville North is still safe?
I figure you have till about Wednesday till it starts getting bad.
It's funny. Immediately after you walk in, you want to walk right out because of the stench. But after a few minutes, you get used to it and don't give a F.
