All the big concerts at the dome were cancelled, thousands are still working to fix their homes, tourists likely changed their plans after seeing the damage from the floods. It's not really a big shock that attendance is down
I expected attendance to be down regardless because we're coming off the 100 year anniversary which set attendance records some days didn't it?
A friend recommended that I check out the Reverse Cowgirl, however, after searching the program, I can't find this event listed. Anyone have any insight into this event?

Nashville North is a good place to start

I had the Idaho Taco today. Voted best new food on the midway.
Basked potato, topped with: taco meat, tomato, cheese, sour cream on the side, tai chili sauce on the side, jalapenos, black olives, lettuce, bacon bits and they had some different hot sauces on the side you could add.
I thought it was awesome!

Can't really describe my insight re: Reverse Cowgirl, but plenty of hind-sight I can share. PM me for photos.

Simply not true, I get it you don't like the Stampede but many many people do.
Plus it attacks MAJOR attention for Calgary.
I don't like the stampede? News to me. I wouldn't go to something I don't like several times. I just think it needs a major makeover but it's still a great time.
Their tour had them scheduled to play in Victoria on Friday and Vancouver last night. Unless they cancelled those dates, they couldn't have been at the Grandstand show.

Oh well- provided some short excitement for an otherwise overpriced and long day. The idaho taco was nothing special i thought- i think they cheaped out on mine though with the trimmings. Lots of other great food options though.
Pre-recorded or not, that marc martel has some lungs.

Like what? How do you make over an event that's based on the old west and uses the same carnival rides that every other event uses? Do you want the stampede board to invent and build it's own rides and games? How about cowboys in in low ride skinny jeans? Maybe some bands nobodies heard of? Although troutman would like that.
Part of the attraction of the stampede is that it's The Stampede. I honestly don't know how or why you could give it a 'makeover'
So excited as I am coming to Calgary for the very first time and coming to the stampede as well (Shame it is not hockey season but you can't have everything). I was also going to the Kiss concert on Saturday night but that has been cancelled, not sure what i am doing instead now, w eshall see.
I am going to be really busy and mostly down the stampede area but if i want to pick up a new flames jersey with a players name on the back etc, where is the best place to go??
Seems like a pretty bush move to throw a tribute band up on stage like that when the real deal was forced to cancel the same event.
Tribute bands are fine when they are up front about it, but don't toss them into something like that as a "surprise" when you know it's gonna create confusion. What's next? The Dixie Chickens at Nashville North?
There is no doubt people were convinced it was them. Under normal circumstances, I dont think people would actually think they would make a surprise appearance at something like that. A few people on the ctrain, still thinking it was them, thought it was a break in their schedule and were doing it as a nice gesture because of the concert cancellation.
When you sober up a little though after the show though, you start recalling that the tribute band is there almost every year.
oh, and booking a tribute band the same year as the real band is kinda strange.
