Am I missing something? Or is this just par for the course for Mulletville fans?
Boyd Gordon is nowhere near the type of player that Tim Jackman is lol. They don't even bring the same game. Gordon is a faceoff specialist who can play on the penalty kill, block shots and is a solid defensive center.

So far Mac t has done a pretty good job.

Got something for horcoff, and didn't have to buy him out- win
Boyd Gordon fills out there bottom 2 lines depth and gives the, size- win
Andrew ference is a legit top 4 d man who can shut down the other team, feisty, and great leadership.- win

Sounds like the reason they brought in Eric Belanger before.

What the hell is going on? A good trade and multiple good signings in just a couple days? Did a wave of competence finally hit Edmonton? Could Craig MacManslaughter actually be a decent GM? Surely these are signs of an impending apocalypse.

The shortest amount of time between 'Has Boyd signed yet?' and the actual signing.

MacTavish was and will never be the problem. He's actually a knowledgeable guy. Kevin Lowe is the one who has no clue what he is doing. MacTavish unlike Tambellini gets to make his own moves.

Meh. I'd rather have Corban Knight. Oh wait...we already do.

a better version of it

Gordon had a 35% ozone start rate (meaning he was mostly used for defensive draws)

and still had a positive corsi

he had a great (albeit outlier) defensive forward year

if it's a good deal and he can play like he did last year it's a great signing for a team that plays horrible team defense

And Belanger was about twice the offensive player that Gordon is. Here's their production over the 4 years before joining the Oilers:

Belanger: 40 pts/82 games

Gordon: 21 pts/82 games

He is making meh moves so far, which for Edmonton is a huge upgrade but far from showing that things are going to improve for the Oilers.

They still have major issues that they haven't come close to addressing.

A Stephane Yelle type. Positive signing and a piece of the puzzle I think for the Oilers.

The Horcoff trade was pure brilliance.

Feaster is getting worked over by MacTavish.

They didn't get anything of value back and at best saved money.

It was a fine move but not anything close to brilliance.

Boyd Gordon is worth gettign upset about? We grabbed Knight who the Oilers were after as well... and I'd say Knight has more upside down the road than Gordon.

They didn't get anything back of value? They cleared 4.5 M of cap space and didn't have to buy him out. Almost everyone thought it was a great trade for the Oilers.
