Really low shooting percentage last year. I suspect he is about a 35-40 point guy.

Holy F I hate SOB so much. I don't care how well Jones ends up for us, I hate Shane O'Brien.

@RogMillions: I still believe there is more to come. I keep hearing Mike Cammalleri is on the move. Question is when and where? Stay Tuned.

Tanguay is easily the best player in this trade. I guess Jones has scored 20+ goals a couple times but he's going to be a 3rd line RW, maybe a 2nd line RW for a year and $4,000,000 for the next 3 years is a bigger cap hit than Tanguay... I really don't like that.
I don't think I like this deal.

Very happy Tanguay's gone. Not worried about the return, he would have been a floater next season.

I would have liked to see some kind of pick coming our way, tbh. The Avs got the more valuable players in this deal. But I guess it's par for course with Jay Feaster running the phones.
|
Sounds like Feaster was on the golf course while making this deal.

Aging 2nd line player, seemed to mope after he lost his teammate, has a NMC...
I'm not sure what people were expecting to get for him.
It really sounds like expensive players for younger expensive players.

You got to be kidding me. I thought it was a 'mey" trade until now.
Jones is not a $4 mil cap player and the flames now have Sarich 2.0 until 14/15 instead of getting rid of Sarich 1.0 at the deadline.
Edit: after thinking about it the flames will have lots of cap room over the next 2 years. At least Jones is big, can hit and will not mope.

Tanguay is extremely skilled and fun to watch, but there is ZERO battle in his game. He would get in the Pacific Division.

Tanguay has been my favorite player both times he's been a Flame. But that probably says more about my bad judgement than his value to the team. Loved watching him over the years but I'd resigned myself to him being gone. Good luck Tangs.

Bye bye Tangs. Have fun drop passing in Colorado. Ya effortless heartless full of talent Frenchy.
Sarich thanks for your time here buddy. You did what you could with what you had left.
SOB was solid in Nashville in the playoffs a couple years ago, not the most skilled but he will run through a brick wall for you.
Jones - Gamble there, but likely more effort than the floating Frenchman.

even on the cap front but that's not a big concern for us these days anyway.
I'm happy to see Tanguay go after the terrible effort he gave for the last season and a half. He has so much skill but no heart...good riddance.
Jones was a guy that I wanted back when he was a free agent. Not sure if he's regressed, but he plays a gritty crease game with good forechecking and penalty killing.
We needed to get rid of the glut of left wingers we had, especially those that were passengers on this team.
Sad to see Sarich go, but honestly, he doesn't have much left in the tank. O'Brien will at least drop the gloves a little more often.
