Despite all the devastation... I can't stop thinking about how fortunate we are to live here! People are smiling, nobody is crying for help or handouts, all three levels of government are on the ball so far – looking at the situation, evaluating the damage, talking to the media. Help is rejected in favour of those who need it more... Yes, a lot of money and effort will have to be spent to recover from all this damage, but somehow, this is not the prevailing thought right now.

Walked by there about 3:00 this morning. Was a little water on the streets, but most of the flooding was a block or more East. She has been evacuated, but shouldn't be too much damage down there.

And the fan attic warehouse, the main kitchen, the food services warehouse, and the coolers from which the 'goodness' which is Saddledome draft beer come from will also be flooded out.

Thanks a ton, means alot. I had an eye on instagram all night, got little sleep. As much as i'm happy to be here in AZ, Calgary is still my hometown. My mom is fine, just talked to her.

Hang in there Calgary!

I live on 1st Ave and 7th St in sunnyside. I was just at my house 90 mins ago. Basement still dry thank God. The river has breached the berm throughout Sunnyside and there is water flowing down Memorial Dr eastbound. 6th st and 2nd ave was still drivable when I was there and is so far dry.

4 and 4A street have water on them, at least a foot. Parts further west look to be faring better.

That part of Beltline is dry. It's East of 4th that's affected.
