That's tough to adjust not being to go back to your house for 3 days.

So I gather that 1995 was worse than 2005. How much worse? I looked at the city's floodway/floodplain map
http://www.calgary.ca/PDA/DBA/Pages/...inge-Maps.aspx
but what exactly is it saying? If all of the way/plain/fringe spots had water, is that comparable to 1995? 2005?

Not as bad as situation my boss is in.... they left for work this morning, everything was fine. Their dogs are at their house (in Bragg Creek) - and now they can't go home and there is no one who can get to their dogs.

I think that the report that said 1995 was in error. The last "big one" was in 2005, not 1995. I don't recall if there was any significant flooding in 1995, but if there was any, it wasn't as bad as 2005.

I do like how my Park Plus app is giving me evacuation notices as push notifications. Might as well get the word out any way possible.

A couple of us who are talking about 1995 are referring to Lethbridge. Calgary wasn't affected in 1995.

High School evacuation centre in High River is now being evacuated due to having no sewer service.

It only seems unexpected for Calgary because it didn't rain much for you. We got a month's worth of rain in less than a day, and some places got almost double what we did.

I would leave it plugged in. It will stay colder up until the time the power may go off ( or be turned off). If they get all clear within 24 hrs, no sense spoiling food and dealing with odor.

As far as safety goes if you're worried about it flooding and shorting out - that's what your circuit breakers are for.

Supposed to be racing in the fallen timber area this weekend. It has now been postponed
