so If Ramage did not sign with the Flames he could have been a UFA August 15?
Gaudreau is planning on playing in Boston next season... Only one more year after that he would be a UFA?
Is the clock ticking on Jankowski?
Will he be ready next year? If not and he develops as planned he has to play 1 more year and then he can pick his team?
If Agostino does not sign with the Flames this off season , would he become a UFA next aug 15?

It seems that the US college projects... guys that need to grow and fill out like Jankowski and Gaudreau would be extra risky for the teams drafting them... .. guys that need 3 years to get ready have to be considering staying another year and becoming UFA's and picking their teams if they pan out.
Guys playing CHL junior hockey basically run out of a place to play hockey 2 years after they are drafted. Also they get their $95,000 signing bonuses when they are signed that binds them to the team
This is a risk you take with any prospect. What if we hadn't signed Sven immediately after we drafted him and he held out after year 2? What about Wotherspoon? At least you get 4 years with college players and now Europeans.
so would the Flames be offering Jankowski a $95.000 signing bonus and get him playing in the OHL.. They did that with Kobasew and sort did that with Backlund. He got a 87,500 signing bonus the year he played in Kelowna as well as the 3-4 days of a 875,000 NHL salary for his one game with the Flames on his way to Kelowna.
Jankowski's plan after the draft was to play a year in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints to get ready to play in Providence so it sounds like he might be more focused on hockey than getting a degree.
I think we'd lose Gaudreau for nothing but if Jankowski doesn't sign don't the Flames get a 2nd round pick as compensation? Thought unsigned 1st rounders resulted in the team being given a 2nd rounder as comp.
Think he will be a very good player still but if his development does flatline the Flames can just let him walk in 3 years and recoup a 2nd rounder.
Corban is not training with Eberle, he's presenly training in High River and he is training midget and junior players. He has commitments for training in July to prepare for an NHL camp...I do not know with whom. His family connection with the Flames includes the fact that his father is a Chaplain for the hockey team.
Regardless, I do hope the Flames are looking at Corban. This can be a good opportunity to acquire assets and add prospect depth that have a real opprotunity to potentially play.

Yes, they will get the 21st pick in the second round of the 2017 draft if they're unable/unwilling to sign Jankowski by August 15, 2016.
Winnipeg is getting a compensatory draft pick this year for a college player Atlanta drafted in the first round in 2008 that they didn't sign last year.

It's one thing to like the Canucks, another that he publicly said that his most hated team is the Flames, probably not great odds, odd that he's basically from Calgary and hates the Flames though. Little bizarre to be making those kind of comments in a public forum about a team your family member works with too.
