Wow, were England really that bad? I'm just going through the stats on UEFA.com and the only stats list England even register on was 'Most Offsides' having two players who were offside twice each.

Thats it. Thats pretty dismal considering the fairly experienced squad they sent and the weak group that they were in.

Sweet Jebus. Their squad was as much if not more below its potential full strength than the German squad that you make excuses for.

Still a terrible tournament that will cost Pearce his job.

Wilfried Zaha
Thomas Ince
Jonjo Shelvey

A lot of those guys are playing first team football in the PL and have caps for the Senior England National team.

Who didnt they take to make them an under-strength squad?

In contrast, the only German player that had national team caps was Lewis Holtby.

England had a good team, the showing they put up is pretty much inexcusable.

The FA is also ridiculous for taking some of the U-21s only to have them sitting on the bench for the qualifiers.

Spin, spin, spin. Of the folks you mentioned there is probably one, maximum two competitive full caps between them. That IS NOT a list of experienced footballers.

So ...are you saying that the Germans are all second tier players?

And who could England have taken? Oxlade-Chamberlain, Phil Jones, Welbeck, Wilshere, Rodwell

And that's not counting about 10 others that were injured and that Rose, Ince and Zaha were injured/suspended for the first game.

All I'm saying is that although their performance was shambolic they were as equally missing players through similar circumstance as the Germans. That you would try and differentiate between the two camps situations making ones performance (rightly) out to be miserable whilst excusing the other as ..... ooh, the Germans don't really want to win it is sad, pathetic and laughable all the while grasping for differentiating circumstances such as a couple of individual friendly caps .

I'm speaking as a neutral. If the English performance in this tournament is a shambles and a failure then the German one isn't far behind. Your arrogant German pride just won't allow you to admit it, or see it for what it is.

Yeah, but according to you the difference between the two is that the Germans weren't playing to win, and are just using this as a development tournament whereas England has sent a fairly experienced squad because ... wait for it ..... most of their footballers play in the top flight of their league.

And the Germans are all 2nd tier footballers with no Bundesliga experience?

Italy and Spain play tomorrow in the Finals. A rematch of the senior European championships from last year.

Game ended 4-2, with two penalty conversions for Spain.

Two good young teams, expect to see some of those players in Rio in 2014, lots of young talent poised to break out on the field today.
