8. Lindholm
Believe me, it's not what I want. Lots of rumblings that the Flames are very high on Shinkaruk.

I just don't see it. The Flames need a high end center. They went hard for O'Reilly and Richards and failed (thank god the O'Reilly situation fell through). They know that this team hasn't had a franchise center since 1995, they should know that this team needs to build down the middle seeing that building from the wing didn't work. They will draft a center at 6. If they don't then a lot of fans will be severally pissed.

It's scary how Fucale keeps moving up Button's draft board (7th now) and Flames management keeps gushing about him. Picking a goalie that high in a year with this much forward talent would be tragic and pretty exactly what I'm coming to expect of Flames managment.
Am hoping for Lindholm. I thnk we'll draft Monahan... If he's gone it mean Nichushkin slides and I think they'll pick Nichushkin.

The first three players a drafted as expected, Nashville really likes Lindholm and takes him at 4, Carolina sticks to past trends and takes a North American born player in the first round (since 2003 they have only taken two Europeans in the first two rounds of the draft, none in the first round), this leaves the Flames with Barkov at 6.
|
If that's Nashville's situation, there is no way they don't try to make a trade with the Flames for one of our other two first rounders. They've got to know the Flames really want Barkov.

I feel Nichuskin slips out of the top 10, seen it quite often with these Russian kids.

I assume you mean the #22 pick.
Doesn't matter as Florida would never do it.

Going off the board a bit but I'm going to say shoulder concerns and skating is going to drop him.

Here's how I see it going down. Feaster in another well planned strategy, trades with Florida for the #2 pick (yeah) but Colorado picks MacKinnon (boo), so now what do we do? Of Jones, Druin or Barkov, I'd take Jones but an argument could be made for taking the centre, Barkov.
