Dumb play for sure. Although, next time Carter might think twice about chopping at a guy's hand when he's trying to pick up his glove.

Keith was really dumb, but he was provoked by something pretty dumb as well. Based on what occurred, I don't think it's suspension worthy since it's a heat of the moment reaction.

"Miscommunication", Ray? Both defensemen fell down. Don't overanalyze this stuff.

Ouch, I hate seeing guys get hurt like that. Puck to the inside of the knee.

Nice! Bickell is having a pretty good playoff so far.

Great pinch at the defensive blueline by the Kings player. Anyone catch who that was?

Hooray! Want to see this series go at least six games. My two favorite non-Flames hockey teams.

"Being provoked" and "heat of the moment" aren't things that negate a suspenion.

In this case I would think it does since it was a reaction to something that could've been considered offside as well due to lack of protection. When emotions are high it's instinctual to retaliate in a similar fashion.

I don't think Keith meant to hit him in the face at all.
That said, you have to have control of your stick. And at the core of the play, he swung his stick at another players face. He should have been kicked out IMO.

Won't defend Keith...it was careless...similar to the Sedin play, a retaliation.
'Hawks got killed in the faceoff dot...see my earlier comments about our weakness at Center.
Leddy's turnover really got the 'Hawks off to a bad start. Rozival was sloppy early too.
Kings played good D, and got enough O for this win...I still expect my guys to split in LA.

Suspensions are supposed to teach players who can't control their emotions or "instinctual reactions". That's part of the point. People don't absolved of crimes in the real world because they struggled to control their primal reactions.

Chris simon was provoked when he crushed hollwig with his stick. It deserved a suspension then.
Keith deserves a suspension now.
2 games, 1 for the hit, 1 for repeat offender.
But as was said, he tried to apologize and now is a star.
