There has been a concerted effort at MFC - by a number of club officials - to try and improve the image of the club. This is indeed a sad day for them.
Incident-filled away win at Leeds today. 3 red cards, a penalty and a late winner from Ulloa.
Apparently El-Hadji Diouf, after converting the penalty, ran towards the Brighton away fans, rubbing his crotch and making a w*nking gesture. On the advice of the linesman, he was given a straight red.
It is hard to see from the cell phone footage, but if he did do it, what a plonker!
But on a positive note, Brighton have booked their place in the playoffs. Right now their most likely opponent is arch-enemy Crystal Palace. What a great script!

I was at Elland Road earlier this year for a Charlton match, they've moved the away suuporters to a corner of one of the side stands this season. I guess they were making it a shorter run for Diouf...

Albion v Palace tonight at Selhurst Park. Lots of nervous fans on both sides as neither wants to lose to their hated enemy. I get the feeling that people (on both sides) would not be upset at missing out on promotion but devastated if they lost to their rival. Fortunately for them, Watford and Leicester do not have this added element of stress.
Just got my ticket for league 1 playoff final today, very excited. Come on Brentford!

Decided to stay away from the semi-final. Last time these two played (17 March) there were fourteen arrests and problems in the Palace away end. I didn't fancy taking my better half to that.
Will definitely go to Wembley if they beat Palace.

There's usually a great atmosphere at Playoff matches. Charlton's playoff match a few years back was only second only to their first match back in the Premier League in 2000 for atmosphere at matches to which I've been.

0-0 at Selhurst Park tonight. Palace lucky to be level at the half. They were poor, Brighton were dominant. Slight change in fortunes in the 2nd half. Palace has more possession than they did the 1st half (which was almost non-existent) and a few more chances. I don't care for a 0-0 scoreline heading back to the Amex - the whole away goals rule, etc. But Palace have lost both Williams and Murray, the latter to what looks like knee ligament damage. Brighton have a stingy defence and have been great at home as of late, but the whole away goals thing... I just don't know.
Lots of homophobic chanting to boot. Like diane says, "stay classy Palace."

there is no away goals in the championship playoffs (as Swindon Town found out).
