Who says you need to get a gift? Have your kids clean the house, and let the lady have the day off. Win, win.

I'm taking my ma on a picnic. She loves that kind of thing.

Riverside is great. Let her know she can go as early as she likes prior to appointment or stay afterwards; to enjoy their eucalyptus steam room and/or have a refreshment by the fireplace. The showers there are pretty amazing too.

Yeah, I also didn't get the memo that when we spat out crotchfruit, I'd be responsible for getting cards and gifts on behalf of the kid. As well as a "Happy Mother's Day" gift and card for my wife.

My mom's an avid reader. I was thinking about doing a Kindle or like device and put a bunch of books on it. Maybe not the most 'special' but definitely fits for my mom's personality and could for others as well.

Man, my wife is having her first ever mother's day on Sunday and her 30th birthday on Monday, and I'm still stumped. Definitely looking for a hail mary. |

That's easy.
On Sunday tell her that you got her a great birthday present that is also her Mother's day gift.

It will buy you an extra day to come up with a plan.

This is my family's dilemma too. Last year my birthday was on Mother's Day. Typically, I don't ask for stuff - I have plenty of stuff. I'm happy enough to go for a drive west to the big rock piles and have lunch at our favorite pub in Banff, that sort of thing, with the whole crew involved. That has gotten a little bit harder now that the kids are adults and so many different schedules are involved, but that's my favorite thing to do.

If you want to give her wine, might I suggest one of these gift packages:http://winecollective.ca/packages/gifts
We pick great wine and ship it to you, a great way to discover some wine and learn more about wine tasting.
