I'm really starting to have a hard time watching these guys... EE rolling over a 2-0 pitch out of the zone, with the bases loaded, into a inning-ending double play was about all I could handle. Just not smart baseball. And now you get Felix to keep the fun times rolling - good stuff.

That swing made me angry. The pitcher was having a hard time finding the zone and EE gave him a gift. It summed up how our approach at the plate has been all year. Everybody is pressing, trying to win the game with every swing of the bat. If they could just relax and stay patient, our talent would show through and we would start to win some games.

I mentioned it the other day, but there seems to be a lack of trust right now. Pitchers feel they have to be perfect, hitters think they have to hit a home run because the guy behind them won't get it done. The attitude needs to change in a hurry, because we can't afford to lose many more series'.

I wish they'd keep Rasmus in the 2 hole - guy had a good game yesterday, going 3/4 and his stroke seems to be getting closer to where it needs to be. He's been attacking the ball, and though he still strikes out way too much, last night was hopefully a sign of things to come. Guy has such a beautiful swing - wish he could be a lot more consistant.

.313 OBP behind Bautista, Lind, and Kawasaki but tied for most SO on the team with Arencibia at 40 - next closest is Bonifacio (23) and Bautista (22).

Melky had an at bat yesterday where he struck out in a 6 pitch at bat (it was his first or second AB) where not one pitch was near the zone. Contrast that with the Red Sox hitters who take the pitcher deep into counts and force them to throw good pitches for strikes. Mottola and Walker just aren't getting it done.

I really like Romero, I hope he can find some of his old form and give us a spark. I won't be holding my breath though.

Romero looks sharp thru 3, with 3 k's. Unfortunately it looks like our bats are taking May off as well... Man, it's hard seeing .200 to .250 throughout the lineup. Makes my eyes sore.

What I have enjoyed about Romero so far, is that he is strike 1 with his first pitch, and always ahead on the count. Quite a contrast from last season.

And it looks like a blister starting to become an issue on Romero's middle finger

Another lengthy start from our rotation. We're going to wear out the 'pen by the all star break.

The more I think about it, Gregg Zaun is right. The team is lost at the plate, they have no clue at what they want to do when at bat. No clue what to look for, not clue to where to hit it, just no clue whatsoever.

While Gibbons is not at fault, I think he is a horrible manager. He has mismanaged the team numerous times this season. Pinch hitting for Rasmus for Davis or Bonifacio etc, it only have the PH fail to get on base, then have the CF defence fail without Rasmus playing CF. Pulling his starting pitching with 1 out to go in a inning, despite the pitcher having a good game etc.

Yes, the players need to step up, but not everything can be placed on them, just like not everything can be placed on Gibbons. Every member of the Jay stuff needs to step up, own it, and be the team they can be.

But I am drunk, so what do I know.

At least they'll be able to recoup some of the prospects they dealt off if they decide to blow it up.
