Nope.
There is more to hitting than BA and he said playing.

Using them to support a narrative that there is no way that a team can make the playoffs when they have yet to play even 17% of a season is.

Didn't watch the game but man. Bucholz is on a roll this season.

Had fantastic box seats to tonights game, and of all 3 game I went to, I didn't know it could be any worse than the home opener. The Jays never showed any energy and Bucholz seemed to take forever to make each pitch. Good thing the free food and booze distracted me, because that game blew.

Seems like it's going to be another dull season. Except this one will be disappointing considering all the hype. May have been misleaded if they get right it after a month.

At least all the prospects except syndergaard have been hurt or ineffective. That helps a little (looking for silver linings)

A loss is a loss whether it's 2-1 or 10-1. A win tonight and they get th series and a building block for some momentum. The Mariners suck, I know their record is better than the Jays, but given a win tonight it may spark a series sweep, raise the confidence before going to the death building in Tampa.

Nothing is worse than a batter who steps out to the edge of the circle, and redoes the strap of his batting gloves, elbow pad, ankle guard, etc, tapes his helmet, stares at his bat, steps in, kicks some clay, arm up to the ump, checks his feet, taps the plate, tugs on his jersey and then calls timeout because the pitcher hasn't finishes his walk around the mound in between pitches.
I wish they could speed this up - call a strike if you take more than 10 seconds to get back into the box or a ball if you take more than 15 seconds to throw the next pitch.
...and I'm a huge baseball fan.

You are right as far as the standings go, except 17 runs against in the first two games of the series tells us something about the pitching.

I really wonder what is going on with this club. Last year I got a very positive vibe(whatever that means) when watching the games. They seemed to be all pulling for each other and working together. Manager making solid moves and in general a happy bunch. Got nowhere but looked like a team. This year I just don't see it. Are they not getting along? Too many new guys?
They look like they are going through the motions and the manager looks like he is asleep. Could well be reading way too much into to it but something isn't right besides them just stinking in general.

Nope, I don't think you're reading too much into it. I've already said that I felt like last year's team had far better chemistry and I had fun watching them, even through the losses.
There is definitely something off this season. I don't think they're having fun, so I'm not having fun watching them.
