				 Flyers may offer sheet Pietrangelo

		| Dont be surprised if Flyers try an RFA offer sheet to StL' Pietrangelo this summer. After last summer, they MUST fix the defense |
Not sure how it would work for the Flyers cap situation, but the Blues, with an internal cap/budget in the low 50s are ripe for the pickings with 4 significant RFAs, including Pietrangelo, Shattenkirk, Berglund and Stewart, plus Grachev, Russell and Cole

I'm sure they will try and move Halak to ease the budget

I hope they sign him to a massive contract (then the Blues match) and then we can pry away one of Shattenkirk or Polak

There's no way the blues let him get away. He's going to be in the top 5 d men in the league for the next 10 years.

Blues will probably get him inked before July 5th anyways, don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

I'd expect Pietrangelo to get at least a Tyler Myers type contract, with a $5.5M cap hit, and would not be surprised by something in the $6M range
If the Blues have a $52M internal cap, and currently have about $41M on 16 players, there isn't much room left after they sign their franchise D-man

The Blues will trade or compliance buyout Bouwmeester before they let any of their RFAs go. Holmgren is just being Holmgren - blindly throwing darts hoping to hit somewhere close.

yeah, Blues won't let Pietrangelo get to that point if they can help it.
On a separate note, I DO NOT want to see the Flames offer sheet anyone. Our 1st next year will in all likelihood be a top 5. We have big questions on D and HUGE questions in net.

Offer sheet would be the worst decision possible (see Kessel, which wasn't actually an offer sheet but the deal was structured like it was)

Pietrangelo is a top 10 dman in this league IMO and will likely be top 5 in the next little while.
I am hoping phili offers him mad cash, st louis matches, and then flames can squeeze shattenkirk out of St louis.

It doesn't surprise me if Holmgren go after this guy. He's been known to gamble on somebody else RFA. They really need a stud defenseman since they lost Pronger to injury. Problem is, the other team usually match Philly's offer and that skyrocket the salary. I can see Pietrangelo getting an overpayment for sure.

Brodie is good, but there is no way any team will be offer sheeting Brodie.

Pietrangelo is top 3 in the league IMO for defensemen with Karlsson is there as well.

Giordano would look good in a Flyers jersey.
Couturier for Giordano. |

That would be an expensive couple of months to have Jay Bo.

Philly, who's already fighting to get under the cap next year, is going to overpay to sign an offersheet? How?

Richards, Carter, Giroux, Briere, Schenn, Couturier, Roenick, Primeau, Brind'Amour throw in Lindros and Clarke and Forsberg and Sittler cause why not? And the Flyers fans have to be like bizzaro Flames fans where their GM is desperate to grab pretty much any position but a center.
"Better not draft another center, the last thing we need is another one to build this team around."

St. Louis matches all day every day. He is one of top 8 defenseman already in the league.
