Realizing the 27 years old complaining about being old could, albeit just barely, conceivably be my kids.

...and the draft picks from 2 years ago were born when I graduated University.

Knowing that from now on every draft eligible player is younger than me. Sigh...

I work with a bunch of 18-19 year old guys, and they always want to go out and get drunk with me. I'm only 28, but I don't enjoy going out and getting blasted anymore.
That makes me feel old.

Thankfully I guess my eyesight has faded with my age so I still look pretty good in the mirror.

I was mountain biking in BC this weekend and came across another group of riders. As they were heading down the trail ahead of us, two of the younger riders in their group stopped to wait for a minute and I overheard them talking about one of the other riders in their group, saying "Man, I hope I can still ride a bike when I'm his age. 36 is like, soooo old."

That one hurt a little.

When I realize my kids are 14 and 16. When my 16 year old started driving. When his friends call me 'Mrs.' When I think about when I was 16 and I thought 'My God, my parents are ancient, they don't have much time left'... and now I realize, when I was 16.. my mother was younger than I was with a 16 year old.

Ran into a co worker I hadn't seen in years today and said we should get together for a game of golf. Text me he said and I replied that I don't text. Okay, send me a message through Facebook when you want to play and my reply was that I don't have a Facebook account. Well then, tweet me when you want to play and my response was I don't have a Twitter account. How do you communicate with people was his final reply and I said by phone or email

What makes me feel old? My oldest kid.

At his age, 22, I was already married and had just had him.

People ask me if I have Facebook, and I've never really wanted it so I don't. One of these days I'm going to say something like, "Facebook? That's so passe'. "

Sitting outside and checking out 20 year old girls and realizing that if they busted my they would think I was a pervert, or that I was a rich old sugar daddy looking for action.

Captain, I meet Steve, a 40 year old lfriend of mine, once a week for lunch at the same sandwich shop. He is still a good looking guy, but when he was younger women of all ages chased him all over the place. Sometimes he would ignore the hot chicks and pay attention to the less desirable ones as if that were an act of charity.
A cute 19 year old girl works at the sandwich shop. She wears really skimpy clothes and I think her flirtations are often unintentional. Anyway, Steve always flirts with her and writes "I love Chrissy" on his styrofoam cup before he takes it to her for a refill. This has been going on for over a year and although she has never commented on it I have felt embarrassed for him.
well the other day he kinda freaked out and said "You know what? Why am I doing this. I'm acting like an old pervert".
It was so funny. He's not a bad guy, just a "middle aged crazy" or whatever that song is.

Yup, I figure if you hit my age and you're still not married you have a few choices.

1) Buy the white leisure suit with the open button shirt and chains and start hustling young chicks in the bar.

2) Forget about it, jam the one night stands when you stumble into it because of the sense that single woman at your age have just as many issues and damages as you do.

3) Start buying subscriptions to Russian dating sites.

4) Become a total alcoholic, die in a gutter like Poe and hope that people remember you as much cooler then you actually were.

Steve was briefly married to an Italian body builder (can't remember her name) who dumped him for some rich body builder.
Kind of amazing the share of heartache this guy has had from women. Looking at him you would surely think otherwise.

He had a portfolio done and was getting some modeling jobs years ago, but he hated doing it. He looked just like a guy who recently did some Calvin Klein ads but I don't know that model's name.

It's worse when you follow junior hockey. There will be 1998 birth dates at training camps in the fall.
