Yes. Weird Al was incredible. I haven't been that entertained for a long time.
As for the opening act, I thought the songs were good, but the music was kind of that generic grungy rock sound. Not that I should criticize, but if they came up with something more unique and catchy for the music, they could be up there on the "they might be giants" level, because the lyrics that I could understand were pretty clever.

Weird Al was great.
I laughed my ass off when security kicked the two people from the front who were dancing, just after the opening set guy encouraged people to come up and dance.

Dang it, so much for the majors coming out for this. We're getting more of the guests out but maybe future years for larger and better exhibitors.
Seriously, ING direct? The hell are they doing there? Isn't HMV out of business? Bert, you can't let HMV get more floor space than you!!

Today even though it was sold out seemed not very packed at all. I guess there were lots of things going on for everyone to congregate in the main hall. Tomorrow should be fine too.

Can't say I went on a Friday last year (tried to get in saturday, went on sunday) but I went last night think it's pretty night and day as far as organization is concerned.
They've definitely learned from last years mistakes.

Chicago's C2E2 Con being on the same weekend probably has helped. It seems like last year was a real destination con for people to travel to, with the Star Trek cast and all.

The day could have been a lot worse if we had crap weather.

The opening act was awful and after they finished their set it was a full hour before Weird Al took the stage. What kind of opening is that? Weird Al puts on an entertaining show so I had a pretty great time even though I only know a few of his songs. The roadie standing on stage holding the harmonica was probably the best part of the show.

E3? Pay a lot of money. I'm not positive, but if I remember correctly they closed it to the public a few years ago (and if there was public admin, it was like $500). Basically media only.

Argh. We went, but then three songs in got a text from my parents, who were babysitting our 5 month old, that we needed to come home. She woke up from her nap right after we left for the concert and was inconsolable for the next hour - just freaking out. Silly us, thinking we could go out without her and have fun.

Ya they downsized the event a few years ago and essentially made it media only. Why not go to PAX instead?

Ugh, spent so much. Only Fillion's autograph remains, but the only one left is at 10am. Crap. Anyone know where to line up for the best chance at that?

Photo ops are pre-sold, autographs are sold day-of.
