It is around the 26 minute mark set by Victor Hedman in his debut with Tampa.

The thing that impressed me the most about Cundari was his hitting ability. And that has me very optimistic.
I don't usually take much home from a player's first NHL game. Whether they do well or poorly. But things like straight-line foot speed, poise with the puck, and the strength/timing to throw good hits, are things that I think do translate well to their overall game.
And Cundari showed excellent poise and made a lot of contact, he threw a respectable 3 boxscore 'hits', he looked very, very solid and strong when making contact.
Honestly, I'm expecting essentially every one of the new guys on the team today to regress at some point before this team is competetive again. Some of them will bounce back and be legit players, some of them will prove to be guys who played on adrenaline through their first few games with no pressure, but aren't the real deal.
I don't know how Cundari will turn out, but man, he looked really good last night.

Cundari played so poised last night. He made tape to tape passes, hustled hard, got a goal and an assist. I was hoping some how he'd get a fight in the last few mins of the game to complete a Gordie Howe hatty. Now that would have been a heck of a debut. I can't wait to see if he can keep this up. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders, so the odds are looking favorable.

Pencil, not Pen. I do not think anyone is looking to gift-wrap a roster spot for the guy.
I really hope the Flames keep more than one spot open for young guys to compete for. If we go out and sign a UFA to fill a spot I would be really disappointed... especially after looking at the 2013 UFA list.

He looked good but I didn't notice how he did when the team was hemmed in. I'll have to watch that part of his game next time. Playing with Brodie makes that part of the game easier.

undersized guy with a big heart ...liked in the dressing room by his teammates...appreciated by the coaching staff (see icetime) this guy eeeeerily reminds me of okotoker (Ference)
some may disagree but this team has missed the type of player Ference was ..is ....Andrew never backed down from nothing when he played here and Cundari and his style of play is going to be contagious here and that is needed so badly in Calgary.
I loved when he said the opposition has to think about me when I am out there instead of thinking about what style of play they are supposed to be playing .....a player who knows his hard assed role and thrives on causing as much rectal discomfort as possible needs to be in the lineup for the Flames BIG TIME.

Cundari is definitely on the starting roster next season, it's really a no brainer. He's already better than Butler, Smith, Babchuk, Carson and Sarich.

Yeah, he's already an AHL allstar. There is nothing left to prove at that level. We're gonna be a basement team for the next few years anyways, might as well leave him in the bigs next year and see if his ceiling is elite AHL player or legit NHL defenseman.

Haven't seen this before on here, but here's some discussion when Cundari signed in St. Louis. Flames may have a find on their hands.... Hope the link works...

Representing the Italians well.
Although we may have surrendered to the Allies and Germans, we won't surrender that easily on the ice!

I love that the Flames seem to be targeting that type of player.
Gaudreau, Baertschi, Cundari, Agostino, Wotherspoon, Reinhart, Backlund, Brossoit, Ramage, Arnold are all players that stepped up their game when it matters the most in the past.
Whether it was their junior playoffs, college finals, WJCs, they all seemed to be able to take it up that notch when the games started to become more important.
I know that many think building a "winning culture" is overplayed but I really think the key to building that culture is by building a team of guys that hate to lose and know how to step up their game when it matters the most.
It doesn't mean that they will all turn out to be successful NHLers but if your organization can build that attitude from top to bottom in your NHL and AHL lineup you will more than likely be successful.

Can anyone explain how he wasn't named one of the 3 stars in yesterday's game? Pretty freaking ridiculous.

Exactly, pencil not pen. Pencil him into the top 7, but back up with plan Bīs on 2-way contracts.

Who were? (missed it)
Despite how well Minny played for the most part, my 3 stars were:
MacDonald
Brodie
Cundari

I have to caution you there was I was banking on Chuck Kobasew to be a clutch player based on that... living the scars of the young guns.
