The
Boston Bruins and
Pittsburgh Penguins have cancelled their morning skates for Friday morning at TD Garden.
The city of Boston, as well as several surrounding communities, are "locked down" by authorities as the search for one of the suspects involved in the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday continues. Government officials have ordered residents of the city to "shelter in place" until further notice.
The fate of the game Friday night at TD Garden is unknown. Just after 12 p.m. ET, the
Bruins provided the following update:
"Due to today's heightened security in Boston, we are taking direction from state & local officials, and do not have any updates on tonight's Bruins/Penguins game. We will update accordingly as soon as possible."
