See 4chan identified the perp, and the cops got him. That's how crime is solved!

I would think camera's are going to be pretty valuable, one tool to be combined with all the forensics. But there is likely camera work of the perpetrator walking into the area. Its just a lot of detective work and elimination to get to the right frames.
Right now, it might be surprising there is no claim of responsibility. You would think the point of attacking a soft target like the Boston Marathon, probably the most watched and famous marathon in the world with all media attention focussed in that direction, would be to deliver a message. So far, no one knows what the message is supposed to be.

I'm not surprised that there was no annoucement of responsibility.
If it was a homegrown or foreign Jihadist then that inforamtion will come out soon enough, plus there's the assumption factor.
If it was a white supremist then they're hoping that people jump to the brown guy conclusion which they hope starts the race war that they're hoping for..
If its a gun nut, then I don't see the point of indicting your organization
If it was a psyho they don't want to call attention to themselves

It's fairly damning that the guy appears to be holding the same backpack that the FBI says exploded. The other stuff is circumstantial at best (although I would presume that there were only so many possible places/bags that could conceal a bomb within the areas where the bombs were known to have detonated).

Nothing is solved until they are convicted in court.
This is hardly case closed.

I want to see the faces of people around here if the 4Chan photos are actually those of the suspects who did it.

Cnn with a big headline saying arrest in Boston case.
An arrest has been made in the Boston bombings investigation based on two videos showing images of the suspect, a federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend.

30 minutes between reporting they have a suspect to the arrest, that's pretty quick?

I don't think anyone on here is saying those circled people haven't done anything or not. But that an internet witch hunt is only going to do more harm than good. Especially if one or more of those people are innocent.

I'm sure they probably searched his residence and have likely found more evidence. If you are an amateur building bombs you likely left some clues that experts will find.

NBC says there has been no arrest. CNN says there has. NY Post says the suspect is due to arrive in court.

That's fine. I doubt those circled people have been lynched, and if 4Chan is right in that they're suspects, then I'm just curious to what the naysayers will think.
I am a heavy proponent of crowdsourcing crime scenes where possible - but I'll expect the appropriate people in the FBI and DHS are sifting through all the data intelligently. And I believe they are - I have met analysts with both departments before at conferences and such, and these people are no slouches.

The NYPost has been out of control on this one. They've either broken this story huge or are just total #$#hats.

The media/4chan needs to stop randomly highlighting brown people in the area of the explosion.

NY Times right now:
BOSTON — Investigators have found video footage of a man who they believe may have planted the deadly bombs at the Boston Marathon, a person briefed on the matter said Wednesday, saying that they had pinpointed the image on video that was captured shortly before the blast.
http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/18/us...y.html?hp&_r=0
CNN has another reporter saying no arrest at this time. However, they have images of whom they think is the bomber.
Perils of the competitive 24 hour news cycle.

If they broke the case and found the bomber when the FBI couldn't then that would be something. If they didn't, then...who cares? Also something to keep in mind, if the 4Chan folks point out 2, 3, 5 or however many bombers and there is only one. Then, I'm sorry, that doesn't count as a win either.
