I echo be courteous to your fellow man or woman.

There is a fine line as to if a person feels that he/she is boxed in in a parking lot. Ie. A larger person will obvious have a more difficult time getting out of their car and will require more space. If every person decided to be rude and ding other people's cars when they subjectively feel like they have been "wronged", everyone would end up with a whole lot of dings. No matter how mad I am at the person beside me, I would never intentionally ding their door (although I would check to see if they dinged me getting out). I believe in karma and being a jerk just isn't worth it no matter how mad you are.

I don't get all this crap about BMW drivers. It's quite narrow minded IMO. For every BMW I see parked poorly, there is an Audi, or a GM, or a Honda, or a Toyota, or a Ford.. etc... parked poorly.

It ticks me off when people are rude just because of the car I am driving, not because of how I am driving. I get that attitude when I am driving my wife's BMW, but never get that when driving my Acura...

I'd also add to this

6. Look for signs of "DO NOT PARK NEXT TO ME" such as kleenex boxes in the back window and cars that were made in the 80's or earlier.

I have a 2 door car, with long doors, and a very high centre console that there would be no way in a million years to climb over from the passenger side. Am I supposed to wait an hour for him to finish making his purchases at the Affliction store, and buying white Oakleys at Sunglass hut, or am I going to wedge into my car, as best I can so I am not late for work, an appointment... whatever. If I get parked in by you, because you think your parking space is more important, than me being able to leave the mall.... that's tough #### if I ding your car trying to wedge my body into mine.

There is no way in a million years it would hold up even if I did and you had a picture of my plate, unless you film the actual act. The dip poop that used to park next to me in the parkade in my building put half a dozen door dings on one of my cars, and when I tried to get insurance involved, they said "If there isn't a witness, there is nothing you can do, unless he fesses up." It would be no different in a mall. There is no proof any of the next 2, 3 or 10 cars dinged you. Door dings do not leave paint transfer. And even if they did, you can brush it off with a finger tip. You think the Calgary Police service is going to get involved if you get a door ding, get David Caruso, and his CSI team out doing DNA swabs of your car? They are going to tell you to call your insurance, or go spend $100 at dent clinic.

If you park someone in like an inconsiderate a-hole... like it sounds like you do, you deserve the door dings.
haha this made me laugh. Every time I come back to Calgary I'm always stunned by the excessive amount of guys in their 20s driving trucks with white Oakleys. I seriously never see anyone outside of Calgary wearing Oakleys while not participating in sports.

My brand new car recently got a nice big dent / paint scratch from someone's door. Do you happen to drive a red car?

In all seriousness though, people who damage other people's property and just leave without leaving a note are gutless cowards and can eat a big bag of Richards.

I have a friend who drives a BMW and spends his winters in Florida. He routinely looks for an end stall to cut down the chances of getting hit by car doors from and old geezer.

I think the person that suffers the most is the one who has the hangup that "he is what he drives", and always has to have a high end vehicle, that looks like it just came out of the show room.

What's wrong with pride of ownership? I don't own a high end car by any stretch but I still baby my car anyways.

WGMG is when I park my car near the back of the lot where there are no other cars and some rusted crapbox parks uncomfortably close/next to me

I highly doubt that.

No kidding, instead people come post and act like an ass accusing people of stuff.

Jesus, if all you can do is be a jerk when posting in a thread, please don't post at all.
