If this is North Korea's move, it's a bad one because it would carpet bomb central over Pyongyang by the time the sun went down.

I just heard an interview with an ex-military guy that served in Iraq and Afghanistan who was very close to the blast and his initial thought was it sounded and felt like an IED that he saw so many of while in service.

No Muslim person needs to apologize for the work of a psychopath. Apologizing is a sign that the terrorists are winning.

I had those thoughts as well as home grown Islamists as we've seen an upsurge in that. I also thought about the White Supremist groups who tend to be the more violent type.
I have trouble with the concept of some Tea Partier for some reason.
This is a pretty rational attack and fairly well planned out.
They knew where the camera's would be, they knew where the greatest density of people would be, they picked a significant day and they picked a major international event.
This to me was a warning instead of a deliberate attempt to stack casualties. If they wanted that they would have dumped a bunch of glass or nails into the packaging and killed dozens.
What its warning about I don't know, nobody has taken credit yet.

No need to apologize. No one knows yet who did this or why.
My gut is leaning towards homegrown terrorists linked to Waco, Ruby Ridge and Oklahoma.
My thoughts are with everyone down there

The fact that he was standing close to the explosion and walked away tells me that it wasn't an IED which is lousy with fragments.
As I watch the video of the blast, this wasn't a small device, its was pretty significant, probably in a backpack or small box that looked like garbage.

Sorry...i should have mentioned he wasn't standing close by but was actually running in the race and nearing the end apparently.

np, I'm just going by what I've seen in the video especially since there were so many people so close to the explosion that weren't injured.
It does look like a fairly large blast though as far as small bombs go. I've been watching some videos of 1 and 2 sticks of dynamite explosions and they look like the same size though I doubt that anyone would use dynamite for this when there are more efficient explosives out there that can be brewed in your own basement.

Anyone looking for a reason - this is it. 26 miles is probably far harder to secure than the Super Bowl too.

I clicked on a few Youtube profiles to see who these losers were and Youtube lists age if you have entered it in.
That should not stop you from watching the video however, as it's encouraging to see so many different people pulling together to help the wounded despite the possibility of further danger.
