IMO only,,,,the only other team that makes sense is Winnipeg as because of other considerations he must endure, being somewhat close to home is necessary.

If he is going to Toronto, then they might have to wait for MacIntyre to clear waivers if he is involved in the trade.
Does anybody know if Scrivens has to clear waivers to be sent down?

I don't think Scrivens would be sent down, he'd probably be the one coming back in the trade. MacIntyre has to clear waivers and than he'd stay in the minors and be an emergency back up. The leafs would go with Kipper/Riemer and we'd take Scrivens, they need MacIntyre on their farm team just in case.

Why doesn't JFeast permit everyone to contact Kippers agent - wouldn't that inflate his market value a bit more? What do you have to lose?

Doubtful there are more than a couple teams Kipper would report to right now.

some of the ppl on here are just unbelieveable. First Iginla now Kipper. I don't see the point of keeping Kipper now that Iginla is gone, but lets not push him out the door. If it wasn't for Kipper and Iggy we would have sucked long time ago. Plus lets not count our chickens before they hatch, not all rebuilds go smoothly, just ask the Islanders and Oilers.

You think Scrivens would be on his way back? Does that mean Calgary would be getting a 5th or 6th round pick?
I can't see Toronto giving up Scrivens and a 2nd or 3rd for Kipper.
Feaster seems pretty set on the 2 euro goalies as well.

Although at this point they seem to be working somewhat. They're trending upwards.

I would definitely want Scrivens. He might not be a bonafide #1 goalie, but I think he would make an excellent 1b capable of playing 30ish games at a pretty competitive level. Scrivens and a 3rd and I am happy.

Cripes, get a solid D prospect if you can JF, we dont want either of the goalies they have now-their the reason TO's in for this trade on the first place...

What is in the past is in the past. Start considering the future. What role does Kipper have with this team in the future? I personally don't see any role for a guy like Kipper now or in the future. He is best served, as is the team, to move on and allow the new era to begin. I appreciate your comments that not all rebuilds go smoothly, but sitting on veterans until they fade into the woodwork has never worked anywhere. There comes a time for change and the Flames have finally figured out that time has come. Embrace it. It will make the games easier to watch and easier to enjoy.

I get that Kipprusoff is having a bad season, but holy crap the things being said about him heading to the Leafs has me hoping he stays here just so he doesn't have to put up with the crap they are saying about him.
They realize they are getting a goalie, who is miles ahead of either of their goalies. If he finds his way again they could have a top 3 goalie in the Eastern Playoffs this year.
I may just be extremely biased though

Is there room for another G going forward though?
Macdonald, Rammo, Ortio, Berra, Broissoit, Irving, Taylor, Brust
Now obviously some will be let go to F/A....but where do the rest all play?

Besides MacDonald none of those guys are proven in the NHL to the extent of Scrivins.. I'm sure you can figure it out.
MacDonald would leave, Irving, Taylor and Burst are all FAs. Burst isn't even signed by the Flames... he's on an AHL deal.

I don't know about the European goalies, but of the guys you listed that have played in the NHL, Scrivens is easily the best. Does it solve our goaltending dilemma? Not entirely, but anytime you can add a solid goalie like Scrivens, you are certainly addressing part of the problem. Having a goalie of his calibre to play 30 games lessens the burden to find an all-star goalie. Instead, a solid goalie with 1A potential would likely get us by. Irving, Taylor, and MacDonald are not the answer to Calgary's goaltending concerns, so I don't care where they go.

I'm waiting to hear what Aaron Ward has to say about this.

Feaster and the Flames need to realize they are in the drvivers seat. Its not life or death if they do not move Kipper. Unless it is the 1st round pick and the #1 or 2 prospect even if that so happens to be an active rookie so be it .
The Flames do not in any way need to trade Kipper but the teams lurking about do.
If Feaster settles for less he should be fired.

Chances are they will get a first round pick but to expect a #1 or 2 prospect also isn't going to happen.
We don't know how long Kipper plans to keep playing so now is our best chance at getting a good return. We could wait another year and get less or nothing should he decide to retire this summer.
