Disagree, even with his down season, there's no doubt that Gio gives his all. I agree that he should be our next captain.

Comeau and Jackman also gives it their all.....

Jordano looks broken. Hopefully he is injured and that can be fixed. But if he is made captain I hope he isn't the silent type like Jarome.

Out of thanks but this. Gio should be a keeper for this team as despite what some seem to think, you do need to keep at least a few players over the age of 20 to play and with Gio you get an "all heart" type of player that you want to pass that along to the "next generation".

I can see Gio with the C next season.

If the Flames trade Bouwmeester, I'd rather them take Seth Jones than Mackinnon. If the Flames could somehow get Monahan and Jones, wow I'd be happy.
I hope they trade Jay Bouw because I really do not think he would want to re-sign in Calgary after next season.

Well if you're comparing Gio to Comeau and Jackman there's really no where we can go with this discussion, you're already in hyperboleville.

I believe Bouw like Kipper just had a newborn? Another reason he might not waive his NMC.

You don't get kudos for being dragged kicking and screaming into something that has been obvious for YEARS.

More like shame on the team for playing blind, deaf, and dumb to the plight of the organization.

Feaster has been GM for a season and a half and has shown more balls than several other GM's. Plus he has admitted his mistakes.
Now whether his team he assembled have any clue what to do with a rebuild, we shall see. (In Weisbrod We Trust)

Richard Cloutier of Hockeybuzz must really like negative publicity. Now he says the Oilers are interested in JBow, and that the return would be Smid!! Of course, the Flames would have to agree to terms with Smid (UFA) to complete the deal.
I'd rather have one of the Oilers Giordanos, or maybe Lucic after he's traded there.

Btw, I could see the Sens being interested in JBow if they stay in contention.

I still don't think we are heading in the right direction with prospects. We should be getting more Europeans and not college guys.

I might be the minority but I would perfer to keep Jbo and try to sign him next year to a 3 -4 year extension in the 5 million range. If we can't sign him next year than ship him out. I would approach him this year though to see if he is interested in staying through the rebuild.
I think jbo is a number two defender on an elite team. The same cannot be said for Wideman or Gio and we don't know about Brodie yet but I see him as a good 3/4 but struggling as a 1/2. So if we trade Jbo we have 3 2nd pairing defensemen and need two top pairing defensemen. If we keep Jbo we only have 1 gaping hole in our defense.

I would rather look at moving Glencross to get a 1st and a prospect. He is the most valuable guy on our roster left.

It doesn't matter if you 'give it your all' if your play on the ice is terrible.

I hope Bouw isn't traded. He's not that old, and at best we'd be hoping to draft Jay Bouwmeester with the pick we get for him.
Unless we get Couturier or another potential top line centre in return I'd rather he stays.

Jay Bouwmeester looks pained in discussing yet another season with no playoffs. Admits he has talked to team about his future. #onthemove

Really not a lot of point holding onto your biggest asset that may or may not want to sign here after next season when your team will be fighting for the 1'st overall pick for the next couple seasons.

Also I wouldn't hold your breath on Glencross, he is about as untouchable as it gets considering he signed to stay in Alberta for a pretty substantial discount compared to what he could have got on the open market, and he has a NTC. Glencross won't be going anywhere.

Get that third 1st rounder. Then you can even trade Pittsburgh's and the Jbo suitor's for a 2nd pick in the top 10. Grab McKinnon and Shinkaruk / Monahan / Lindholm, or even a top d-man.
But we need to make SURE we get a top prospect back as well. One of the top 2 organizational players from whichever team gets Jbo. No longshots.
