Default Do we bring Sven back up

That's the next question, we need to fill a roster spot. Do we bring Sven back up or leave him with the Heat.

Who else is ready enough to jump in.

I'm guessing for lines we're looking at

Tanguay - Stajan - Stempniak
Hudler - Cams - Cervenka
Glencross - Backlund - Jackman
Comeau - Begin - Psycho

Only if he's in the top 9 and getting meaningful pp minutes and at least 13 minutes a night.

I'm pretty baked and don't really wanna do line combos. As far as Sven is concerned I think we let him continue to score and be dynamic down in the AHL, for now.

Close your eyes and say my name and I'll take you far away. To a place where you and I can be.. without everyone to say, na na na na na na.. and I'll take you far away.

No. Leave him in the AHL.

Let him challenge for the Calder next year.

No. I don't want him being exposed to this environment.

Next year.

Glencross - Stajan - Stempniak
Tanguay - Cammalleri -Baertschi
Hudler - Backlund - Cervenka
Comeau - Begin - Jackman

That's how I'd roll if Sven comes up. Hopefully he gets another look.

Have to think at least one more Flames forward could be in play at deadline. Then Sven should definitely be brought up. With less emphasis on winning, let him play in all situations, make some mistakes, and gain some NHL confidence.

After we trade Begin, Comeau and McGrattan we should bring up Baertschi, Jones and Aliu.

Probably not gonna happen though.

Bring him and some of the other young-uns (Horak, Nemisz) up after the trade deadline. Need to see what we really have in the system

I think so. The Heat are stumbling anyways. Ideally, we move out a few more veterans for picks (or, you know, prospects that some of us have heard of) and bring up Horak too. Get those guys another dose of NHL experience so that next season they will be that much further along in their development.

Is he eligible? I don't think he is. He's played games in two straight seasons.

Edit:

http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=24931

According to this, it looks like he would be.

To be eligible for the award, a player cannot have played more than 25 games in any single preceding season nor in six or more games in each of any two preceding seasons in any major professional league. Beginning in 1990-91, to be eligible for this award a player must not have attained his twenty-sixth birthday by September 15th of the season in which he is eligible.

Lets let the next 6 days play out. You'd have to suspect at least one or two defenseman and one or two or more forwards will be moved.

See where it shakes out then.

Only counts if he plays 6 or more in each season, he played 5 in 2011-2012 so he's eligible.

Bring up him and Horak both. Put them on the 2nd line together. With Backlund.

Nemisz and his 8 points in 47 games can stay in the AHL.

Yep there is probably more to come. I am thinking Tanguay and Jbo or Jor probably.

More curious to see if he can be a 3rd/4th liner for the Flames (or any other team looking for a cheap player)

Stats don't always tell the whole story.
