I was so stoked to get tickets for the game tonight to see him in (what should have been) his last game as a Flame. They should have let him have 1 or 2 shifts, then sat him. Hopefully he makes some sort of appearance tonight...

Funny up until now I was pretty indifferent emotionally with regards to all of this. But the implications of him being scratched for tonight actually have me a little sad! End of an era if this really is it.
Tough to separate the emotions from this one for sure.

My fear with this Russian kid being the key part of the deal is he might not leave the KHL for several years, and we end up with Caron who is a big winger with no offensive sense and a late first round pick.
We're all going to be sitting on edge for the next few years.

If you're talking about Khokhlachev, he'll likely be a 2nd liner at his very best.
But if you think they'll get a "franchise saviour" for Iginla, you need to temper your expectations.

Caron, Khokhlachev are pretty solid if that is the deal. Picks make it pretty good.
Khokhlachev should be a 1-2 centre. Played well in th khl against men, then ohl then ahl.
