Every time I come onto this thread I see that Ramage got another game winner. He must have as many as Gaudreau this year haha.

He only has 8 goals this year, and I just checked, 5 of those goals are game winners. The way he's picked up his points the past few weeks he could potentially end up doubling his freshman year in points (12), which was his previous high. He has 18 points right now in 40 games:

HIFK loses the third game 3-2. They actually put up a fight tonight. Granlund was back in, nothing remarkable but still the best he's played. Ortio, not great, not bad, should have stopped the first goal.

Wisconsin up 3-2 late in the third against Colorado College. Ramage has the primary assist on the go-ahead goal.

Rebels won 3-2 tonight. Elson had 2 assists tonight and looked pretty good. He has deceptive speed, killed penalties, and played net front on the power play. He's a hard working north-south player. Saw some flashes of hands tonight but he doesn't look pro-ready yet. Him and Dumba were clearly the best players on the Rebels though.

Culkin picked up 2 assists tonight. He has a goal and two assists through the first two games of the playoffs.
Also, based on Ramage's performance these last couple months, the Flames simply cannot justify letting him go, especially with how poor the Heat's blue line is right now.

The Wisconsin Badgers (Ramage) won their conference and WILL be in the NCAA national tournament.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish (Larson) are in their conference finals and should get at least an at-large berth in the tournament.
The Boston College Eagles (Arnold, Gaudreau) will LIKELY get an at-large berth.
The Providence College Friars (Gillies, Jankowski) are UNLIKELY, but MIGHT, get an at-large berth.
The Michigan State Spartans (Deblouw) are done.

Ramage leads Wisconsin to WCHA championship Sunday, 24.03.2013 / 5:39 PM
Calgary Flames prospect John Ramage's last season with the Wisconsin Badgers will be his most memorable year with the club.
The Badgers claimed the WCHA Final Five championship on Saturday night in St. Paul, MN, edging Colorado College 3-2 in front 18, 782 fans at the Xcel Energy Center and the senior defenceman played a key role for his club in the victory.
Ramage earned the primary assisted on Nic Kerdiles' game-winner at 16:15 in the second period after he blasted a shot on net and Kerdiles scooped up the rebound, flipping it past Colorado netminder Joe Howe.
Wisconsin now awaits its seeding and placement in the NCAA tournament, which takes place on Sunday evening.
The championship comes after Ramage, the team captain, put together a career year and helped guide his club through some rough patches through out the season. The Badgers had a horrific start to the year, going 1-7-2 in their opening ten games, and went through coaching changes and a plethora of injuries. Ramage's guidance and leadership helped pave the way for his team to finish off the year with a 22-12-7 record.
Offensively, Ramage absolutely blew past his previous career-highs. The St. Louis, MO product scored eight goals and 19 points in 41 games and was a plus-18 on the year. The Badgers record when Ramage found the back of the net? 8-0-0. When he registered a point? They went 12-1-1.
The Flames drafted the blueliner in fourth round (104th overall) in the 2010 NHL Draft.

Really happy for Ramage, hopefully the Flames get him into Abby next season.

I think Ramage is a much more promising prospect than some of the college free agents whose names are brought up around here. Grit and leadership are two of the main things the Feaster-run Calgary Flames are missing. He could be a very important piece of the puzzle 3 or 4 years down the line. Rhett Warrener in his prime...

Apparently Ramage had a career year as a senior. I sure hope that speaks enough to Weisbrod et al, and they don't give him the Joey Leach treatment.

He could be a future leader. He's captain of the Badgers and was captain of the USs world junior team.

it was a couple of months ago when Weisbrod was on the fan, saying that it was tough to tell if Ramage fits into the Flames plans, especially long-term. Was saying that they thought he struggled at times during his college career, but that this season was his best one and that he has improved his conditioning and physical play. But IIRC he was asked at the end if they would sign Ramage and I believe Weisbrod hesitated and said they'd have to look at the numbers of contracts and so on.
But the way he has played over the last few weeks, it's hard to believe that they won't sign him. I'd be disappointed, for sure. I think Ramage, Wotherspoon and Culkin should all be in Abbotsford (or Utica ...) next season.

Along with Breen, McKenzie, Lamb, Carson? That's not a bad defense for sure. What about Sieloff?
You have to think that depending on what the Flames do at the trade deadline there may be a spot or two to be had on the big club next year.

Sieloff won't be AHL eligible ... you have to be 20 by December 31. Sieloff isn't even 19 yet

Markus Granlund scored the winning goal tonight in the series against Tappara. Wins were 3-0 Tappara so it was an elimination game. The first playoff goal of his career.
HIFK wins 3-2. Ortio with 27 saves and a decent celebration at the end.
Nice that they're putting up a fight. Highlights: http://www.ruutu.fi/ohjelmat/sm-liig...appara-2532013
