Well I'll be damned. My first thought was "MFF, you idiot, how do you not know what brand your microwave is? You see it everyday."

Then I thought about it for a second and realized the only appliance I could think of off the top of my head in my kitchen is the GE dishwasher.

Now that I'm home from the office and have time to expand on this a bit...

I'm a huge proponent of brand loyalty. There's so much crap out there to choose from, and I don't really have the time or patience to mess around with stuff that doesn't work the way it should (or at least the way I expect it to anyway). When I find something that works well, and I'm pleased with it, I go back to that same company when it's time to replace or upgrade it (or whatever). There are a great many benefits in being able to know what you're getting and trust where you're getting it from. A lot of people seem to be loyal to whatever does something the cheapest. I'm not like that. I value my time and my sanity much more than I value my money.

With that said... here's my list:

General stuff

Watches: Citizen
Household electronics: Panasonic or Samsung
Car audio: Pioneer
Shoes: Nike
Laundry: Tide (both detergent and dryer sheets)
Appliances: Maytag
Deodorant: Old Spice
Shampoo: Pantene or Dove
Soap: Irish Spring
Toothpaste: Colgate
Mouthwash: Listerene

Computers and computer components

Business laptops: Apple, ASUS or Lenovo
Personal laptops: Apple
Desktops: Apple or custom-built (see following)
Operating systems: OS X for home and development use, Windows for home and office use, Linux for utility and development use (shocking, I know)
Processors: Intel
RAM: Corsair
Power supplies: Corsair
Hard drives: Western Digital or Seagate
SSDs: Intel for reliability, OCZ or Samsung for performance
Motherboards: ASUS
Graphics: Don't care about ATI vs NVIDIA, but I'll only buy ASUS or HIS cards
Mice and keyboards: Logitech or SteelSeries

Portables

Phones: Apple, RIM, Nexus (regardless of manufacturer)
Tablets: Apple, ASUS, Samsung
Music players: Apple

Edit: I should add that it's not like I'm a robot about this stuff. Everything is entirely experience-based. If something from one company ends up frustrating me enough, I don't have any issues with switching to a different company. My overall point is that when I find something that works well for me, I'll give that manufacturer another chance with the next go-round. The longer they go without disappointing me, the longer I'll continue to buy their stuff.

All others are negotiable.

I prefer Apple over other computers and tablets at this point, could change.

Yeah, I have a similar brand loyalty breakdown when it comes to computers.

 Computers and computer components

The one that comes packaged with a nice monitor for a decent price

I agree that loyalty is something that is not undying, but companies that consistently deliver. That when a company changes and competition delivers a better product you have to move on from the comfort zone.

Branding is about checking your brain out because you know you are going to get a great product without doing the proper research. A brand is only as good as it's last F-Up.

Look at the Lululemon storm. A quality product that is highly compromised and de-constructed by cheap off-shore manufacturing.

Anyways, the brands that have served me well by exceptional products:

Rolex
John Varvatos
Allen Edmund
Rotel
B&W Speakers

Excedrin for headaches, although is has been on recall for almost 8 months. It is magic.

This might be a long shot but does anyone know if they have re-stocked anywhere? I know they started shipping but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

You can pretty much get what you get with Excedrine by taking a Tylenol, aspirin and having a cup of coffee.

Man, it's a good feeling when you find a product that you like so much, it's not even a choice anymore.

Recently: Charmin Extra Strong toilet paper.

Clothing-wise, if I find something I like, I will stock up. Recently purchased 6 shirts all in identical cut - 2 white, 2 blue, 1 grey, 1 pink. I also know what colours work best for me, so I am loyal to - white, navy, light blue, burgundy, tan, and grey. I have a dozen pairs of burgundy socks ha.

The quest continues: Humus, hair product
