Haven't seen Conroy for a while.
Long story short I think Feasters bosses have effectively taken over the total control of the ship. Sure he'll still answer the phone and make phone calls regarding trades but I don't think he has any autonomy anymore to make moves, whatever he did have.

that is a whole lot of assuming based on nothing more than Feaster being less public

exactly. There isn't much going on as of right now so he doesn't have a reason to be out in public talking. I honestly think he does want to shy away from the lime light a little since his last "misinterpretation" and this is just giving him time to collect himself.
Let's just hope the next time he's talking to the media, it's for a good reason...

i'm sure the flames staff are busy figuring out the next steps and/or how to spin/articulate it should they decide to stay the course for the 4th straight unsuccessful season.
I do wish they'd come out and try to appease this nervous and disappointed fan, but at the same time, there isn't much to talk about at this stage.
I don't think we need to worry, the actions will speak much louder than any soundbites in the next few weeks.
I wish the flames management and Feaster good luck thru this process and do hope they figure this thing out.
On a side note, i do feel a bit bad for feaster on this ROR fiasco. It was a mistake, clearly a bad mistake, that all involved, were lucky to have not actually gone thru. These are the types of mistakes that can ruin careers. I would argue that in his tenure with the flames, he has shown little in the ways of creative thinking and action to turn a sinking ship around, so not sure he was going to get another hockey job anytime soon anyways.

Sounds like Feaster is laying low and not going to make the mistake of talking too much prior to the deadline like last year. Really we all know if he has a presser he's going to field a bunch of Iginla questions and I simply believe the organization doesn't want to speculate on the subject at all. If and when he is dealt then you will likely see management come out of the woodwork to answer questions. I feel the organization is not treating this whole trading of Jarome lightly and want to ensure it's all handled correctly and the way they are going about it is the right way as we don't need the GM to come out and say "we aren't trading Jarome" only to turn around and do it days later and they don't want to make Jarome look like a villain for wanting out. People have complained that Feaster is all talk and hot air so now he's not talking it seems like fans are now complaining that he's not talking. Have some patience people as in a few weeks it will all be revealed.

I have heard Friedman say on the fan that Feaster does a good job of hiding his intentions and leaking rumors to te media. Since his time in Calgary his big moves like the Cammy trade, Richards/RoR offers came out of no where and were no speculated before. This gives me some ease after getting all worked up about Iggy possibly considering Vancouver.
I think the hockey ops department is heavily debating blowing the team up and we won't hear from jay until the first domino falls

No talk is a good thing.
I still think feaster was in the right on the OReily offer sheet. We will see when the actual cba is written.
I think right now they are carefully shopping around our assets with all of them available. You do this quietly because you might not trade every guy you shop and you dont want to upset them or worry them.
I think we will see a new direction at the trade deadline.

Well..he calls me all the time and tells me what's going on so not sure why you guys haven't heard anything.
Just blathers on and on about the plan, overblown offer sheet controversy, trade deals on the table etc, etc, etc.

A lot of people keep bringing up the O'Reily incident
Should the offer sheet have not been matched the Flames would not have lost him on waivers. Feaster is a lawyer, and was supposedly aware of the restrictions. I am sure they had a plan. Pretty sure he said as much, but as the offer was matched it is a moot point.

This makes me wonder about their evaluation of guys like Jankowski I actually question if they can evaluate talent correctly now.
Going after Ryan Smyth was nuts. Having no back up plan when going after big flashy UA's like Richards doesn't work. Being adamant about staying the course when the team clearly needs rebuilt. Talking a big game with no trades to show for it. Crafting a pip squeak team that is too small to compete in the west. If there is an Iggy trade I dont know if I trust him with it honestly.

Yea, it's easy to say that on the surface it's a crazy dumb move and a big mistake, however I also get the sense that they knew perfectly well what they were doing and would have had any waiver issues negated...and despite how bad it looks to risk those draft picks, they were gunnin for a player they probably felt was worth more than those picks. Anyway I don't mean to re-hash the O'Reilly thing...
I think we may be over-analyzing a bit the current situation, Jay is obviously busy trying to plan the next course of action, which happens to be the most critical since his arrival in Calgary, and he certainly doesn't want to be answering constant questions about Jarome everyday....

Nothing he says now can help anyone unless to quell the JI rumours if they have 100% no intention to trade him

I'm guessing he's referring to Feaster showing up at the GM meetings with a couple highly sought after assets available for trade.

or that the other GM's think he's not the best GM out there and they want to make a trade with him because they think they can "rip him off"
